Tamagotchis were all the rage back in the '90s and early '00s. The little technological worlds seemed to consume us for hours on end as we tried everything in our power to keep our digital pet alive.

But just when you thought these nuggets of joy were cast aside into the annals of tech-history, they're set to make a comeback.

The Tamagotchi On Wonder Garden will debut later this month (July 26, to be exact) and will transport you back to a simpler time.

They come in lavender and turquoise colours and will be slightly more technological than its predecessors.

You'll still be able to feed it, clean up after it and help it make friends, but the next generation Tamagotchi will also be able to get its own pet to look after, as well as go shopping and even travel.

The listing on Amazon states: "Marry to build your family tree! When your Tamagotchi character gets married, your next generation character (your My Tama) will be born and will have features from both of their parents! Are the eyes from mom or dad? What about the body shape? What will it look like?

"The Wonder Garden theme comes with an exclusive Land, 2 exclusive characters, different games and new home screen, room, accessories, items, meals and snacks! It also has it's own themed graphic design faceplate and lavender shell.

"Play the Library and Dressmaker games to win Gotchi points to buy food, items and accessories. Connect to your friend's Tamagotchi On device and go on playdates, give gifts, travel together and marry. Works with all themes including Fairy, Magic and Wonder Garden."

To be honest, the Tamagotchi On sounds wild.

The fact that you'll be able to connect your digital pet to an app and customise it more than ever before is brilliant.

However, they won't be cheap to own. Amazon is listing these bad boys for $59.99USD (roughly $87AUD), which is a lot for something that is pretty basic. But can you really put a price on nostalgia?
