Former Google employee labelled himself ‘Mia Khalifa expert’ in CV experiment and the response was incredible

What impact does having the former porn star on your CV have?

A former Google worker has revealed the results after labelling himself a 'Mia Khalifa expert' in his CV before uploading it to the internet - and the results are eye-opening.

Mia Khalifa is known throughout the world for being one of the most recognisable faces in pornography. Despite only working in a handful of adult films, she became the top searched name on Pornhub for multiple years.

Her entry in to the adult industry saw her face intense scrutiny and controversy, however, Khalifa has since left the porn industry and has embraced her celebrity status, gathering millions of followers on social media and then OnlyFans, where she earns millions every single month.

Given her status in the online world, one former Google employee decided to use her name to see what impact it would have when it came to trying to get a new job.

Jerry Lee, a New York-based expert in securing your perfect job, used to work for Google until the company in 2020, with him now running his own company, Wonsulting.

Attempting to use his credentials to his advantage, he added a few 'red flags' to his CV to see if recruiters would ignore them in favourite of having the search engine's name on there.

First up, Lee changed his name to 'Kiss My Nuts'. Charming.

And when it came to his expertise, he listed a load of things you'd expect from a Google employee. We're talking coding, AI, and JavaScript.

But alongside them? Khalifa, of course.

Further down his CV, Lee also claimed that he'd helped spread sexually transmitted diseases to 60 percent of interns, and during his university years, he said he held the fraternity record for the most vodka shots in one night.

The result? Staggering, really.

"It's been about six weeks since we started this experiment," Lee said. "We got 29 frickin' interviews."

The outcome left Lee shocked, but with three huge learning points when it comes to crafting a CV.

"Focus on strong bullet points, clear job titles, and the impact you've made. They're your resume's backbone. Periods and font sizes are fine details, but it's the big stuff that gets you noticed," he said.

"Big names catch eyes, but don't sweat it if you haven't worked at a 'big name' — just make sure your achievements pop with quantifiable results. It's about the skills you bring to the table, not just where you polished them.

"Lastly, KEEP. IT. SIMPLE. A clear, structured resume template is your best friend. Recruiters love them because they can spot the info they need at a glance."

We're not recommending putting Mia Khalifa in your CV, but the evidence from Lee's statement shows that there is method to the madness of crafting a so-called 'perfect' CV.

He moved to the company from Reach plc where he enjoyed spells as a content editor and senior reporter for one of the country's most-read local news brands, LancsLive. When he's not in work, Tom spends his adult life as a suffering Manchester United supporter after a childhood filled with trebles and Premier League titles. You can't have it all forever, I suppose.
