Harry Potter Superfans Have Hogwarts-Themed Wedding

Newlyweds Ria Scriggins and Matthew Tipper fell in love when after discovering that they were both superfans of J.K. Rowling's children's books.

That included arriving at the wedding venue dressed in the robes of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, bringing along an owl with them, and the bride wore a dressed based entirely on one that Hermione Granger wore in the film series.

Of course, there were wands and broomsticks and all sorts, but the couple definitely enjoyed celebrating their special day in a world of magic.

34-year-old Ria, who sports a Harry Potter style lighting scar tattoo on her wrist, said: "I have always been a massive Harry Potter fan.

"I grew up reading the stories and every time I watch the films it takes me back to when I was younger.

"Before I met Matthew I had never met someone who liked it as much as me but he is just as passionate about Harry as I am.

"It's wonderful to be able to share that with someone and when we decided to get married it seemed obvious to have a Harry Potter theme.

"Everything about the wedding is Harry Potter-themed even the vows. I said, 'After all this time?' which is one of my favourite quotes from Dumbledore, and Matthew simply said 'Always'. It was perfect."

For those who don't know, that's a reference to Severus Snape's secret love for Harry Potter's mum, Lily.

The whole wedding was crammed with little details, right down to the wedding favours.

Ria continued: "I studied the movies to cram as many Harry Potter details into the wedding.

"Even the tables have little golden snitches on them, which are little Ferrero Rocher chocolates with wings on them.

31-year-old Matthew also dressed for the occasion, wearing a burgundy 'Gryffindor' coloured suit.

You've probably guess this already, but they're off to the Harry Potter Studios for a VIP experience as part of their honeymoon.

Well, as long as they're happy.
