Man Eats Nothing But KFC For A Week And Loses Weight

Are you trying to lose weight but struggling to shift that spare tire? Well, how about shoveling your face with fried chicken for a week?

Yes, it may not seem like the typical diet plan suggested by a doctor - and for good reason - but one fella decided to test out the theory and, miraculously, it seems to have worked. Well, kind of.

Mike Jeavons absolutely loves fried chicken, he can't get enough of the stuff. And he wanted to do his own take of the popular documentary Supersize Me.

But rather than trying to do it for a whole month, he set about eating nothing but KFC for seven days.

Travelling to his local KFC in Bedfordshire on an almost daily basis, the 34-year-old spent £105 ($136) over the whole experiment - so, as well as the clear health implications, his bank balance also took a hit.

However, if you're sat there thinking Mike was wolfing down everything that was on the menu, think again; Mike only consumed an average of 2,000 calories per day.

And by the end of the experiment, he had managed to drop 2lbs over the seven days.

But while he did shift a couple of pounds, don't be rushing off to buy your family bucket just yet, because Mike's little experiment also had a couple of quite hefty drawbacks.

As a result of the crash diet, his salt intake increased to 150 percent of his recommended dietary allowance and his fat intake increased to a whopping 250 percent.

Looking back on the seven days, Mike said: "I love KFC and wanted to see if I'd still love it if it was all I ate for a week.

"After I stopped the experiment, the week after I felt constantly thirsty and had headaches. I also really missed KFC!

"It was a lot of fun eating all this naughty food. Every day I would be really looking forward to mealtimes!

"It's great as an occasional treat, but not something I'd recommend eating every day! It was fun to do but I wouldn't want to do it again!"

But Mike isn't the only one who has answered the questions no one was asking.

Earlier this year, Ryan Williams, 29, ate nothing but McDonald's for a month to prove Super Size Me's Morgan Spurlock wrong.

He said: "I've wanted to do this for a few years, but I never found the right time.

"Ever since I saw Super Size Me, I thought that the way he [Morgan Spurlock] did the experiment, was unfair.

"He ate 5,000 calories a day and didn't do any exercise, I didn't feel like it was a surprise he became so unhealthy."
