A man has been jailed for six months after he was caught pooing in a hole on a golf course.

Philip Blakemore was filmed on CCTV dropping trou before squatting over the hole on the kids' putting green at Parc Coed Helen in Caernarfon, Gwynedd, the Daily Post Wales reports.

The 22-year-old was drunk when he decided to get a hole in one, but was caught on CCTV and hauled to Llandudno magistrates court where he was jailed.

The gross act put him in breach of a criminal behaviour order and a suspended sentence.

His solicitor, Dafydd Roberts told the court his client was a binge drinker and 'behaved foolishly' when he was drunk. I think that's putting it mildly.

He urged the bench not to activate the suspended sentence, but the magistrates gave him a six month sentence.

Earlier this year, police in Merseyside launched an investigation after a group of shocked golfers found a topless man having sex with the ninth hole.

Steven Gayton, was out with some pals for a game of golf at Brackenwood Golf Course in Bebington, when he stumbled across a man up to no good with a flag.

Steven said: "He was on his own and it looked like he was doing it for a kick and filming himself doing it.

"It's the weirdest thing I've ever had the misfortune to see.

"I don't think he was drunk because he was filming himself. There was only me and three other friends on the course.

"I think he thought he was all alone and when he realised we had spotted him he was not bothered. Scary to think that there are a lot of kids around that area.

"Very strange. Who knows what goes through people's heads. That's definitely a game of golf I will never forget.

"All I can say is if my ball ever goes in the ninth hole at Brackenwood, it can stay there." Fair enough.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said an investigation had been launched after the video began circulating on social media.
