People taking weight loss jabs have been warned of a particular danger they might face from the unbearably high temperatures sweeping across the UK.
There are lots of Brits taking jabs like Wegovy or Mounjaro which suppress the appetite, reduce your food intake and cause you to lose weight.
By themselves these jabs are typically very effective at what they do, though a small percentage of people taking them have suffered from well-documented side effects such as nausea and vomiting.
However, the high temperatures Brits are suffering through right now carry a few more dangers, as pharmacist Ian Budd from Chemist 4U warned that the heat could be damaging the pens people use for jabs.

People taking the jabs inject themselves on a weekly basis and Budd had a warning, saying: "When it comes to heat damage, an overheated pen can look completely normal.

"That’s why keeping your pen below 30 degrees is so important. You can’t always rely on a visual check to tell you if something’s gone wrong, so you have to rely on what temperature you think the pen may have got to."
If you're on the jabs then it's entirely understandable that you'd want to take care what you inject yourself with, and head damage could run the risk of warping it.
Keeping them out in the open runs the risk of them getting baked and warped in the sunlight, storing them in a cool place out of direct sunlight would appear to be the best option.
You're supposed to keep the pens in the fridge anyway before they're opened, and once they are open they should be kept somewhere that's under 30°C.
If you need to take it with you then you should have some kind of bag that can keep things cool inside and store them there.

Those taking the jabs will know you're meant to keep them stored in the fridge between 2 and 8°C, and you should ensure the liquid is clear and doesn't have any bits or cloudy discolouration.
If it does have any of these things, do not use it.
Other people taking medication during the heatwave also have to beware of the consequences of their drugs getting baked.
There are many kinds of medication which cause a person to sweat more, and given how terribly warm it is that puts them at greater risk of dehydration.
This is definitely a time to be taking extra care of yourself and of the things you're using, since the heatwave poses a danger to life.
