Major UK pub chain is offering free pints if you have a Tesco Clubcard

You can use your Clubcard on more than just the weekly shop

You may already know that you can use your Tesco Clubcard on more than just your weekly shop - with everything from trips to Alton Towers to discounts off Disney Plus - but did you know it can also get you free pints?

Yep - Tesco has launched a new partnership with BrewDog, meaning that customers can get money off their drinks and food with their Clubcard.

The scheme is valid in almost all of BrewDog’s branches across the UK and offers a quid off for every 50 points you have.

So, if you want a free pint costing £6, you’ll need 300 points - but, of course, you can enjoy a half price pint for half that amount of points.

James Watt, founder of the Scots brewery, said: “With an existing customer base of over 21 million active Clubcard members, we’re delighted to be the only restaurant partner to offer pints in return for points.

"Everyone is feeling the cost-of-living squeeze, so if we can help people with the cost of our beer where possible, you can bet your pint on it that we will.”

As ever, the offer does come with terms and conditions: The codes can only be used on alcoholic drinks if you’re buying food, with a maximum of two alcoholic drinks per person.

Tesco has partnered with BrewDog.

So if you wanted to order three pints with your meal, you could only use your points against two of the drinks and the meal - you’d need to stump up the cash, or use your card, for the third pint - but there’s no limit on non-alcoholic drinks. You can check out the full T&Cs here.

If you don’t already have one, the Clubcard is pretty useful to have, as well as saving you cash on numerous items, including its meal deals, you also accrue points, which can be converted into vouchers to spend in store - or in BrewDog, if that’s more your thing.

Having said all that, I’m not sure I’d go quite as far as having it tattooed on my arm, like one bloke did.

Dean Mayhew got sick of rocking up to his local store only to realise he had left his trusty Clubcard at home.

Now, while some of us would just opt to download the app or attach the QR code to your keys; Mayhew went for a more permanent option, by having the code etched onto his wrist - and he has absolutely no regrets.

Speaking in March this year, he said: "I still use it all the time. I love the tattoo so much.

"Sometimes when I go in there, the cashier doesn't believe it's real - I have to tell them 'just scan it please!' and they're shocked.

"Everything's going up in price so I'm always making sure I get it scanned now.

"With the points, I'm going to save them up and save towards the cost of Christmas."
