A new documentary investigating the disappearance of British toddler Madeleine McCann has revealed chilling stories that suspect Christian Brueckner wrote about kidnapping women and children.

It's now been 18 years since Madeleine vanished while holidaying with her parents and younger siblings on 3 May 2007 in Portugal's Praia da Luz region and the case remains unsolved to this day.

Tonight's (7 May) documentary Madeleine McCann: The Unseen Evidence from Channel 4 and The Sun reveals further evidence which they claim links German suspect Brueckner to the disappearance. Currently incarcerated for the sexual assault of a 72-year-old American national in the Portuguese region, Brueckner has never been formally charged with the abduction of Madeleine and has denied all allegations.

Brueckner's disturbing kidnapping 'stories'

One particularly chilling finding from the documentary revealed that investigators searching Brueckner's factory in Germany recovered handwritten accounts in which he fantasised about kidnapping women and children. Many were too graphic to broadcast, however one story went into detail about what it would be like to abduct a mother and daughter.

Segments of the story which were read out revealed the convicted rapist had written about drugging a mother while the hypothetical child watched on in shock.

The story reportedly reads: "As she came to the car, holding her daughter's hand and opened the rear door, I was already behind them both with a cloth soaked in ether in my hands.

"I forced it into the woman's face. At first, she resisted violently, but I held her firmly. The little girl sat in the car and watched me with big, frightened eyes.

"When this was all done and the two bodies were hidden in the darkness, I picked up my delivery truck, loaded up my prey and drove away."

Further allegations also allegedly linked Brueckner to the Arade Dam, around 35 miles from where Maddie first went missing in Praia De Luz, which had been searched by authorities in 2023. Photographs taken by Brueckner showed him in the location, with the German national allegedly even describing the place as his 'little paradise'.

The documentary also touched on further pieces of 'evidence' found at Brueckner's property in Neuwegersleben, which included unlicensed guns and ammunition, children’s toys, and bikes as well as as many as 75 children's swimming costumes.

A hard drive was also found at the location and, while specific details about the contents weren't released to the public, investigators claim it contains evidence which suggests Madeleine might be dead.

When approached by LADbible, German police gave the following statement about the documentary and The Sun's investigation: "I can't comment on the documentary because I haven't seen it. In my opinion, the article in The Sun doesn't contain any real news and also contains few direct references to Madeleine McCann.

"I assume the article was published only because of the anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance and not because of the timeliness of the alleged evidence."

LADbible Group has contacted Brueckner's legal team for comment.
