A man is said to be 'lucky to be alive' after a horrifying accident at Manchester Airport.
On Saturday (April 11) an engineer fell from a Jet2 passenger plane and sustained severe injuries.
The unnamed man was rushed to the hospital after the incident, which happened at around 8am.
A full investigation has been launched to discover what happened in the lead up to the brutal fall.

According to Manchester Evening News, the plane was due to depart to Tenerife, and medical screens were placed around the badly injured man following the incident.
Emergency services were scrambled to the scene following the fall, and it has been reported that the injured man was a third-party contractor.
Reports say the man is still in hospital in Manchester, and is believed to have broken both legs and both elbows, as well as dislocated his shoulder, and has broken his eye sockets.

The Sun spoke to a Manchester Airport worker who revealed: "To stop the brunt of the fall he put his knees and arms out, that's what's caused his injuries. At the time we didn't realise how bad the injuries were."
"We were told that he had been told the steps were on the right, which they were, but he misread it and thought they were on the left, as he opened the door he realised there were no steps there, so he tried to grab the door," the worker added, "But as it’s quite heavy and strong winds it’s pulled him out kind of face first."
The worker also said that it is roughly a 35ft drop from the aircraft, so the man is 'lucky to be alive', with the outlet also reporting that the injured man is thought to be in his 60s.
It's reported that least six ambulances attended the scene.

The Mirror quotes a spokesperson from Manchester Airport as saying the incident 'involved a Jet2 plane on the airfield at the airport with ambulances attending before the man was taken to hospital'.
A Jet2 spokesperson said that a full investigation was underway to look into what happened, and said: “We are aware of an incident that took place at Manchester Airport this morning (Saturday 11th April) involving an individual from a third-party provider.
"We are unable to confirm further details at present, however, can confirm that a full investigation has been launched. We are doing our best to provide support to everyone who needs it.”
A North West Ambulance spokesperson told The Sun: “We were called at 08.22 to reports someone had fallen from height.
“A male patient was taken to hospital to be treated for suspected serious injuries.”
