McDonald’s customers have been left disappointed after a long-requested menu item had to be pulled just hours after being launched.

Earlier this week, McDonald’s made some changes to its menu, adding the McSpicy x Frank’s RedHot as well as reintroducing the Big Tasty, the Big Tasty with Bacon, Mozzarella Dippers and the Mozzarella Dippers Sharebox, alongside new sweet treats in the shape of a KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry, a KitKat McFlurry and a Raspberry and White Chocolate Pie.

As well as the new additions, Maccies announced the return of its Breakfast Wrap - much to the delight of customers who had been begging for it to be brought back for years.

After almost four years, McDonald’s finally reintroduced a new and improved version of the iconic menu item.

With a revamped look and an update to the egg formation, McDonald's proudly announced it had answered 'your prayers, pleads and even petitions' to bring the 'true breakfast hero' out of early retirement.

The new Breakfast Wrap - that will set you back £4.39 - is stuffed with a scrumptious pork sausage patty, two round free-range eggs, a slice of bacon, a crispy potato rosti and cheese with either tomato ketchup or brown sauce.

There have been some new additions to the menu.

You can make it a meal for just £5.89, but remember - McDonald's only serves breakfast from 5.00am until 11.00am each day, so you need to be up and out.

Fast-food fans were buzzing with the news, with one person taking to X to say: "The Breakfast Wrap being back at Maccies is the greatest thing to happen for years."

Another wrote: "Uber Eat’s drivers will have dropped off McDonald’s Breakfast Wrap’s to half the population this morning."

A third added: "Happy Breakfast Wrap day to all those that celebrate!"

And a fourth wrote: "20 minutes till I’m getting a Maccies Breakfast Wrap again. I never thought these days would ever come back."

However, just hours after it was brought back McDonald’s were forced to pull it from the menu due to unprecedented demand.

In a statement, McDonald’s said: “After three years off the menu, prayers, pleads and even petitions were answered when McDonald's proudly brought back the Breakfast Wrap on Wednesday 7th February. Whilst McDonald’s predicted fans would be thrilled with this news, they did not anticipate just how much…

“Due to an unprecedented demand, McDonald’s has had to temporarily remove the Breakfast Wrap from the menu, to avoid running out of all wider breakfast items.

“It’s not goodbye, it’s just ‘see you very soon’. The Breakfast Wrap will be making its iconic return (once again) hopefully next week.”
