Six years on from their departure, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to return to the UK and one royal expert has two theories why.
The Telegraph revealed on August 19 that the Sussexes are moving back to the United Kingdom and have made plans for their two children, Archie and Lilibet, to start school in the country when the new year begins in September.
ITV News Royal Editor Chris Ship believes a major reason for their return to Harry's home country is for their young ones, who have had little connection with the UK since their parents' exit.
"I suspect this is part of what they wanted all along," Ship told Good Morning Britain.

"To have that connection to the UK. We know how much Harry likes being here, when he's come back here recently doing the charity work.
"But it comes down to the kids. They want what's best for their kids. Harry wants his kids to have some kind of connection with his home country which, to be fair, they've had nothing, pretty much, at all."

'I think Harry has been a bit unhappy in California'
The family left for the USA in 2020 after resigning from their royal responsibilities, citing mistreatment from senior royals and the British press.
However, the children had joined their parents when they visited the UK in July, meeting extended family members - like Harry's uncle, Earl Spencer.
He also explained how they are keeping their property in Montecito, California, as well as a home in Portugal.
"You can see why, perhaps, all those things have come together," Ship said. "And they thought we've got homes in Europe and California. why shouldn't we also have a home in the UK? Because that's Harry's birth country."
Ship's other theory is that Harry wasn't fully content with his life in the United States, adding: "I think Harry has been a bit unhappy in California.
"I'm not saying he's the sole reason they're coming back, and I think he wants his kids to have a greater connection with his home country."

How Prince William may react to the news
The BBC reports that there are no plans for either Harry or Meghan to resume royal duties at present, and they will remain private individuals.
It's added that King Charles welcomes the chance to see more of the Sussexes in a private capacity after learning of the news.
However, Ship thinks Harry's brother, Prince William, might not be so thrilled.
"What will Prince William make of it? I can answer that one, not a lot," he said.
"I think if there's going to be one issue and one problem here is the relationship with his brother, much less than with his father."
Where will Prince Harry and Meghan live?
It's understood that the family will be living in a private, non-royal residence outside of London.
Ship joked it would be nowhere near Kensington Palace, where William and his family reside, or their country home Amner Hall, on the Sandringham Estate.
But he does have an inkling where they will rock up instead.
"We know Harry and Meghan are big fans of the Cotswolds, it's entirely possible that they'll find a house there," he said.
