Well, it’s happened again, Russia has made another threat that impacts the UK.
While we and other countries in Europe pledged defence packages and drone deliveries to Ukraine, Vladimir Putin’s deadly attacks continue.
And the Russian defence ministry has warned of ‘unpredictable consequences’ after the UK announced a deal to provide Ukraine with 120,000 drones.
They released a list of 12 locations across eight countries in Europe, listing addresses of companies they have accused of producing drones for Ukraine.

Former Russian president and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, described the addresses as 'a list of potential targets for the Russian armed forces', adding: "When strikes become a reality depends on what comes next. Sleep well, European partners!"

Of the three UK locations, Mildenhall, a market town in West Suffolk, is the home of an RAF base and has recently opened a new facility run by Ukrainian drone company Ukrspecsystems.
A drone factory in Leicester has also been highlighted, along with the former offices of a company in London that sells machinery and industrial equipment.
Other European locations on the list of 'potential targets' include:
- Munich, Germany
- Stoevring, Denmark
- Vilnius, Lithuania
- Riga, Latvia
- Hengelo, the Netherlands
- Mielec, Poland
- Tarnow, Poland
- Prague, Czech Republic
- Kolin, Czech Republic
While this follows a bit of a trend of threats made to Europe, it’s not exactly comforting and you may be questioning where is ‘safest’.

Experts have previously listed the safest places to be in the UK in the event of a war, looking at distance from military bases, navy bases, big cities and alleged targets.
And we all remember well from school (particularly those of us minorly traumatised by being made to dress as ‘evacuees’) and from Goodnight Mister Tom, that you want to be out in the rural, quieter, often countryside areas.
So, (drawn up by the Daily Express), the best places to be in the event of some kind of world war as a result of these Russian threats are thought to be the likes of:
· Aberystwyth
· Barrow in Furness
· Berwick-upon-Tweed
· Bideford
· Brixworth
· Carlisle
· Cornwall
· Dover
· Dumfries
· Folkestone
· Inverness
· Isle of Anglesey
· Lancaster
· Margate
· Skegness
· Weymouth
· Whitby

Just to add to the fears after the defence ministry published the list of European addresses, Medvedev said that the Russian statement ‘must be taken literally’.
“The list of European facilities which make drones & other equipment is a list of potential targets for the Russian armed forces,” the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council wrote on X.
The defence ministry warned that attacks on Russia involving drones produced in Europe are fraught with ‘unpredictable consequences’.
It added: “Instead of strengthening the security of European states, the actions of European leaders are increasingly drawing these countries into a war with Russia.”
Publishing the list of locations, the ministry continued: “The European public should not only clearly understand the true causes of the threats to their security but also know the addresses and locations of ‘Ukrainian’ and ‘joint’ enterprises producing drones and components for Ukraine on the territory of their countries.”
