When it comes to getting down and dirty in the bedroom, we probably all know a bit too much about each other.
Gone are the days of keeping things between the sheets and celebrities are only encouraging the trend of sharing the intimate details of their sex lives.
Whether it's finding out who someone lost their virginity to or hearing about the way in which certain celebrities enjoy seeing their partners with other women, the world has really never been this sex positive.
And while young people in general might be having a little less sex, which is no surprise given some of them are even scrolling through TikTok during the act, it seems as if people are still performing rather well when they are given the opportunity.

Although we can't always trust surveys where people are perhaps likely to have an inflated sense of their own abilities, a new survey has revealed the average times of sex from cities across the UK, and it's not even taking into account foreplay.

While it might seem rather foolish to consider that penetrative sex is the only thing that matters, seeing as many women won't be able to have a satisfying experience from that alone, that's apparently what people were giving their average times for.
It must first be said that the preferred national average for sex is actually 23 minutes and 45 seconds, but it differs between men and women, and it's important to note that that is the preferred time. Some women would probably prefer their partner to look like Henry Cavill, but that doesn't mean it's realistic.

But it turns out that the people of Glasgow are apparently surpassing that by a long way, with the fried mars bars and Irn Bru clearly doing something for sperm quality up there since it's taking men an average of 29 minutes and 41 seconds to finish things off.
In second place there's Belfast with 28 minutes and 22 seconds, while Sheffield comes in third place with 27 minutes and 28 seconds, which all but confirms that northerners are better in bed.
That's a significant amount above the average time for straight folks but if you're gay or lesbian then 23 minutes might not even cut it, as the preferred average jumps up massively to 41 minutes, so fair play (or is it foreplay?) to them.
It's also likely that our times in bed will change as we age, whether that's from experience or just a lack of stamina as we pass middle age.
But if you are looking to be wowed in the bedroom, then apparently Glasgow is the place to be, whereas London is all the way down in 10th. Perhaps the rent prices are getting everyone a bit down.
