'Concerning' health detail spotted as Elon Musk shares his drug test results

It comes after Donald Trump slated him as a 'big-time drug addict'

A ‘concerning’ health detail has been spotted after Elon Musk shared the results of an official drug test.

The Tesla boss shared his ‘negative’ results this morning (17 June) following reports Donald Trump had called him a ‘big-time drug addict’.

With the US president’s former ‘first buddy’ cutting short his time at the White House last month, numerous claims came out that he had engaged in extensive drug consumption while serving as an adviser.

So, in response, it seems Musk decided to give a sample for a laboratory report from the United States Drug Testing which came through yesterday as ‘negative’.

However, Twitter users are pointing out a detail they fear indicates bad things for his health.

What has been said about Musk’s drug use?

While Musk has previously spoken about engaging in ketamine therapy for treatment of depression, he has been accused of downplaying his use.

During an interview on The Don Lemon Show in March 2024, he said: “If you’ve used too much ketamine, you can’t really get work done, and I have a lot of work.”

Musk claimed he was having a ‘small amount’ around ‘once every two weeks’.

However, it’s said the Tesla boss was also using the likes of ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms.

The New York Times reports claims that Musk used so much ketamine during Trump’s campaign trail that it was impacting his bladder. It adds that he travelled with a pill box with Adderall markings.

It remains unclear if he was under the influence while working at the White House but Trump reportedly referred to him as a ‘big-time drug addict’ as their relationship came to an explosive end.

What was shown in Musk’s drug test results?

While the results for the likes of ketamine, cocaine, methadone, fentanyl and opiates were all ‘negative’, it’s Musk’s creatinine levels that are ringing alarm bells for users.

With the results saying ‘normal’, it puts the quantitation at 47.16 mg/dL.

One user wrote: “Too much creatine!” as another said: “Congrats Elon Musk. Watch those creatine levels. Drink more water.”

“Is that a typo or are your kidneys shutting down?” a user asked.

During a previous appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, the pair discussed the use of creatine as a supplement and made claims of its effects on brain function.

"I think it's not just for bodybuilders, it's something that can help you think more clearly," Musk suggested.

Why is this result 'concerning'?

As users have pointed out, the results were for creatinine which is the waste product the body produces from creatine (which the muscles use to make energy).

Generally, it's said that normal levels in the blood range from 0.7 to 1.3 mg/dL for men.

The NHS explains that if there’s a lot of creatine in a person’s blood, it means their kidneys are not working as well as they should be.

A higher than normal level of creatinine may indicate the likes of kidney problems, a blocked urinary tract, loss of body fluid or muscle problems.
