Jimmy Kimmel tries Donald Trump's cognitive test to find out how hard it really is

Trump claimed the test was 'not easy'

Jimmy Kimmel took a cognitive test, which Donald Trump had bragged he'd 'aced' after calling them 'not easy'.

The US president has a history of saying and doing some very strange things, which has led some people to wonder what's actually going on in his mind. However, Trump is insistent that he still has all his marbles, as he claimed he was in 'perfect health' and had performed well on tests.

In a speech last month, which was supposed to be about the American economy, he wandered away from the point to tell a North Carolina crowd that he 'did something no other president's ever done'.

"I took cognitive tests because I know that, and by the way, not easy," Trump said, telling the crowd that part of the test involved being able to identify pictures of animals correctly.

Deciding to figure out just how difficult this test really is, talk show host Jimmy Kimmel filmed a segment for an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live where he took the same test.

Kicking off a segment called 'Is Jimmy A Moron?', the host sat down with a doctor to take a test, which she explained was typically for people aged '65 and over' and was most likely the one Trump had taken.

Kimmel jokingly pretended not to know how to use a pen as he went through the various tests, with his first question to tackle being to draw a line between a number and a letter in ascending order.

He also had to draw a 3D image of a cube, sketch out a clock face, and then draw the hands correctly when asked to add the time.

Following that was a question Trump had mentioned when he was shown pictures of animals and had to identify them, with the talk show host correctly saying he could see a lion, rhino, and camel.

"I just saw Zootopia, so I know all the answers," Kimmel joked as he sailed through the test Trump had called 'not easy' with flying colours.

The questions did get a bit trickier from there, as Kimmel was told to remember a series of words for later before going on to other questions, and then he had to recite them after his mind had been focused on other things.

More questions included starting at the number 100 and continuing to subtract seven, and listing a series of words that began with the letter 'f'.

In good news for Kimmel, he was given a 'perfect score' of 30 out of 30, with him quipping, so I can be president' in response to his full marks.

Kimmel and Trump certainly don't get on as the talk show host was temporarily suspended after criticising Trump's reaction to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, where the US president had started talking about building work at the White House in the middle of giving a statement on the shooting.

The talk show host had also accused Trump's supporters of weaponising the assassination 'to score political points', though the backlash to him being taken off the air was significant, and it wasn't long before his suspension was over.
