Pilot Draws Penis In Flight Path While Waiting To Land

The Lufthansa plane pilot was waiting to land at Bremen airport when he drew the phallic symbol

Suggesting that flying isn't as hard as it looks, a Lufthansa plane pilot caused the internet to stand to attention yesterday after drawing the shape of a penis in his flight path.

The pilot was flying flight LH350 from Frankfurt in central Germany northwards to Bremen, but had been forced to circle the airport on arrival and, while waiting to land at Bremen Airport, he decided to take a phallic detour. What do you reckon, sex on the brain or a personal beef with the attendant in the control tower?

FlightRadar24, a website that tracks commercial flights and their journeys, captured the travel path and posted it on its Twitter account, captioning the image: "Landed on second landing attempt," followed by a laughing emoji.

It's since been retweeted around 2,000 times and liked more than 6,000 times, so let's hope it doesn't get the pilot in hot water with his bosses.

Of course, people on Twitter were quick to shoot their load with all manner of puns and quips. "So they cocked up their first pass?" wrote one user alongside a crying laughter emoji. Another wrote "Come again?"

To be fair to the pilot, it could just be sheer coincidence that they ended up flying the path that they did, although that would somewhat get in the way of a good story. Many on Twitter did question, however, whether it was pure chance or by design.

This isn't the first time a pilot has gotten lewd in the air. Last year, an Australian pilot was testing out a single propeller plane's new engine when they wrote "I'm Bored" in the sky as well as drawing several penises.

The message was only visible to those following his progress using flight tracking software.

In this instance the young flyer was let off with an effective 'boys will be boys' chuckle from his senior officer.

However in 2017 one young US Navy pilot was not so fortunate after being caught intentionally drawing a penis in the sky with the contrails from his plane - which subsequently remained visible over the Washington State sky for hours afterwards.

A full investigation was launched and the crew were grounded having committed actions 'antithetical to Navy core values'.

Let's hope, then, that the career of this German pilot doesn't come to a somewhat flaccid end.
