A YouTuber said 's*** happens' after totalling a $3.4 million (£2.56m) sportscar when he hit a tree.

Gage Gillean, 17, from Dallas, Texas, took to Instagram to tell his followers that he was OK following the accident, which saw his billionaire dad's one-of-a-kind Pagani Huayra Roadster completely wrecked.

Writing in an Instagram story, the teenager said: "S*** happens. Thanking God for a second chance at life. Crash could've left us with worse injuries or even death.

"Wanna say thanks to my family, friends and fans for all the messages. Means a lot."

He went on: "I lost control. We hit the curb, we caught air, we went off the ground and flew into the tree.

"The doors flew off when we hit the tree. It was honestly the scariest thing of my life."

Gage's dad, Tim Gillean, is the founder of private equity firm Cross Equities and is a huge car enthusiast.

Speaking about his reaction to the crash, Gage said: "Obviously he's mad upset. But I couldn't really control anything. A car is replaceable, I'm not replaceable."

Gage, who is known as GG Exotics and has 84,000 subscribers on YouTube, later shared a snap of himself with his arm in a sling.

The caption read: "We gonna bounce back."

Footage of the wreck has since been shared on social media, with the once pristine motor seen in a crumpled heap by the side of the road.

It is not yet clear whether anyone else was injured in the collision.

LADbible has contacted Dallas Police Department for a comment.

Now, while most people would be pretty shaken up by a car crash, one woman showed a rather cavalier attitude to road safety earlier this year when she was captured on camera dancing around in a bikini just moments after a bump.

The incident took place in Lepe, near Huelva in south-west Spain on 10 July.

After she hit another vehicle, the anonymous woman was seen getting out of her badly-damaged car and dancing around on the street before being tackled by police.

While it is not known where she had been driving to, it is believed she may have been on her way to the beach.

Footage taken by shocked bystanders showed her walking up to a police officer and appearing to try and give him a light slap on the face.

Two officers were then filmed wrestling the woman - who was still in just a bikini and sunglasses - to the ground, handcuffing her as she resisted arrest.

She also started screaming as they tried to control her, but in spite of her unusual behaviour, she passed drink and drugs tests.
