A daredevil in Russia has pulled off a bizarre stunt after he did a bungee jump with the cord attached to piercings on his bum.

Did we all just do a massive collective wince then? Can't just have been me.

The half-naked adrenaline junkie was filmed in Saint Petersburg taking the idea of a bungee jump to the next level by attaching the cord to his piercings and lobbing himself off a bridge.

As you can imagine, as he plummets, there is a fair bit of screaming coming from the poor bloke.

But let's not pretend he wasn't aware that it might sting a bit.

The clip, which was shared on Telegram, was posted alongside the message: "The Saint Petersburg extremist wanted to feel the whole range of existing pain sensations."

According to the news site Life, the man jumped from a height of 27 metres (89 feet).

But this isn't actually the weirdest bungee jump stunt we've seen in recent times.

Nope, that title almost certainly belongs to a theme park in China that bungee jumped a live pig in 2020.

For reasons we may never understand, Mexin Village of Wine, in Fuling District, used a pig in a cape to advertise their new bungee jump with a clip of the incident quickly going viral.

The stunt horrified animal lovers and the park later admitted that the idea had been 'inappropriate' before adding that the pig had been slaughtered after the jump.

A spokesperson from Meixin Village of Wine said it would regulate its marketing activities in the future.

They added: "We held the event to symbolise the passing of the year of the pig, and the coming of the year of the rat.

"The pig jumping from such a great height also symbolises the falling price of pork.

"We offer our sincere apologies to members of the public.

"After our inappropriate opening ceremony, we sent the pig to an abattoir.

"The pig was still the same as before it bungeed. For us, it was purely for entertainment, and we didn't consider anything else.

"We were careless. Again, we're very sorry. We won't be doing anything similar ever again.

"What the public says is correct - and we humbly accept their criticism and recommendations."

Keith Guo, media officer for PETA Asia, told Asia Wire: "This is probably the world's most inhumane bungee jump.

"While tourists can choose whether to face their bungee jump fears, this poor animal is completely at the mercy of those who have tied up its legs.

"It hangs from the sky in fright, but it has nowhere to run and in the end faces the inevitability of an abattoir."
