A police officer from New York, who works a side-job as a lingerie and swimsuit model, has spoken out about how it has helped her to fight crime.

Samantha Sepulveda has more than 110,000 followers on Instagram and claims that her beauty has frozen criminals in their tracks while she has been on the beat.

"With a female officer, their guard is lowered. There's less aggression and the situation is defused," she told the New York Post. "I talk men into handcuffs all the time because they don't want to fight me."

She joined the force in 2010. Three years later, a friend who worked for a lingerie and swimsuit company invited her to model in a runway fashion show and from there her new career blossomed.

The Dominican Republic-born cop, who earned an MBA in finance before joining the force, says she goes make-up free and ties back her hair when in uniform.

She said that many of her male cop colleagues moonlighted as plumbers or electricians and that if anybody found the photos offensive they should "close their eyes!"

Her beauty has aided her in her fight against crime; once she was patrolling a small town when a man, who had beaten his wife and threatened to kill cops running after him, was so overwhelmed by her beauty, he froze, she claims.

Despite holding an MBA in finance from Hofstra University, she became a cop instead of a stockbroker because she wanted "a career where could [she] could help people."

This isn't the only case of a police officer breaking stuff up in an awesome manner here at TheLADbible. In June, a Scottish cop broke up a pub brawl made an arrest and returned to perform karaoke...

Cop On The Mic

A cop called to a pub fight in Glasgow took the stage after responding to an alleged assault, belting out a rendition of Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive.

Sgt Jon Harris was sent to deal with an alleged assault in the Waterloo Bar in Argyle Street, but after he'd dealt with the trouble he decided a bit of karaoke was in order, surprising customers by performing the 70s classic complete with a few dance moves.

You can see a video of the incident here...

His boss was pleased too.

Police Scotland's Chief Inspector Mark Sutherland told the BBC."I was pleased to see that once the incident had been professionally concluded, my officers were able to share a lighter moment with those who remained in the pub."

The officer was in full uniform when he sang the tune.

Mr McKenna-Boyd, who was in the boozer at the time it happened, told the BBC: "Nobody expected it to happen. It was just a normal Wednesday night for us.

"They've just launched their new wacky Wednesday which is a bit of a game show and a bit of karaoke.

"I think the sergeant was speaking to the karaoke host and she suggested he got up to sing but I don't think she expected him to.

"But she held him to it just before he went out the door. The other officers were outside and they heard his name called up and they ran straight back in.

"They loved it as well. Everybody was clapping and cheering for him.

"He was hilarious, especially his pointing and his dance moves. The other policemen were standing and clapping and cheering. Not sure if he was their boss but when they first saw him it was like their dad had just got up on the karaoke."

Nice way to calm things down to be honest.
