New Study Claims Being Lazy Is A Sign Of High Intelligence
It's the Easter holidays, which means you're probably sat somewhere either binge-watching your fave TV shows in the settling knowledge you've not got work tomorrow or you're sat about with the family eating hideous amounts of food.
While you might feel guilty for your insides spending the long weekend doing a whole lotta nothing, don't beat yourself up because apparently it means you're one of life's great thinkers.
The Sun reports that new research from a US-based study suggests that people with a higher IQ get bored less easily - because they've got that nifty noggin to keep them entertained.
The study also proposes active people who spend more time down the gym or running about town need to stay physically active to keep their mind stimulated with external activities.
So it turns out those gym bunnies you see passing you on the way to work could actually be in serious need of some mental stimulation. Whereas all of you couch potatoes out there are happy sat with your own thoughts.

The study was carried out on a group of students based in the Florida Gulf Coast. Led by Todd McElory, the students were given a questionnaire to rate how strongly they agreed with various statements such as 'I really enjoy a task that involves coming up with new solutions and problems', and 'I only think as hard as I have to'.
The participants were divided into 30 'thinkers' and 30 'non-thinkers' (seems a tad harsh to the latter camp) and their physical activity was then measured over the next seven days via a wrist device. The conclusive data showed the thinking group were considerably less active than the non-thinkers.
However, the weekends showed no difference between the activity level. We can't help but wonder whether this suggests the thinking group were simply sat down studying more whereas the non-thinking group were out and about.
This is just speculation of course, and the researchers of the study reckon it's more to do with the fact the non-thinkers get bored more easily and so need fill their time with physical activity.
Whether this is true or not - that's a pretty small pool of students to pull any decisive conclusion from - at least you've got an official study you can pull out the next time someone accuses you of being a lazy bastard.
