Private investigator shares difference in how men and women cheat

Raymond Ranno reckons that there's a big difference in how ladies and gents handle infidelity

It's said that men are from Mars and women are from Venus - and apparently, this even rings true when it comes to cheating.

According to private investigator Raymond Ranno, ladies and gents are typically on 'opposite' ends of the spectrum when it comes to infidelity.

And after more than three decades of being a private eye, he's picked up on one clear behavioural difference between the two sexes.

Ranno previously explained that 'about 40 percent' of his work as a PI revolves around spying on cheating spouses, while he also claims to have been hired by 'hundreds of attorneys, insurance companies, self insured companies, universities and police departments'.

And while conducting his surveillance on suspected two-timers, he's clocked onto a tell-tale sign which he believes strongly indicates their other half's suspicions were spot on.

Dually, Ranno says that this tip-off also demonstrates a clear difference in how men and women cheat - and it's all to do with how clean their car is.

"If a guy's going to pick up his sweetie on the side, he wants a clean car," the private investigator said during an appearance on the Locked In with Ian Bick podcast last year.

"As soon as somebody goes to the car wash I think, ‘Ha ha, what's next?’ It’s amazing how they do that."

On the other hand, Ranno says that in his experience, it was 'pretty much the opposite for women', as females don't necessarily need to impress their secret lover with a shiny motor.

The PI, who runs his own agency in the US state of Connecticut, explained that ladies 'usually jump in the guy's car' instead.

"Men always want to drive," he added. "It's very rare that I see a guy jump into a female's car."

Ranno also said he often spots cheaters picking up their flings 'on the same street' as their own homes during his stakeouts. Brutal.

Revealing how he often acquires proof of someone being unfaithful to their partner, he explained: "If I go into a coffee place, or a supermarket wherever I need to be, I just take the lid off turn it on put the cap on and it looks like I'm walking around with a coffee...meantime, I'm videotaping everything."

The private investigator's observations seem to be somewhat backed up by the testament of a self-confessed adulterer, who has managed to keep her affair hidden for a whopping 14 years.

The 50-year-old, who shared her story under the pseudonym Caroline, explained that she and her longtime lover remain 'fiercely practical' and 'never get swept away by emotions' to ensure they don't get rumbled.

The pair have eight strict rules which they follow to the letter and according to Caroline, her husband and two kids are clueless to the fact she's leading something of a double life.

"Love affairs that are wild and reckless get discovered," she told The Sun last month.

Her first rule of thumb for cheaters to follow is turning off apps that monitor your location - as obviously, your significant other could easily notice you're somewhere you shouldn't be.

Next, she recommends only sharing the news of your ongoing betrayal with one trusted confidante, to minimise the risk of the cat being let out of the bag.

Thirdly, Caroline suggests sticking to soft drinks when you link up with your fling, as it's more business-like... and your other half might smell a rat if you stink of booze on a regular basis after what you told them was a 'late meeting'.

The veteran cheater says you should never mention new interests or change behaviour to your partner to avoid rousing suspicion - but just in case, you should also always expect the worst and have an excuse prepared.

Caroline also advises cheaters to be vague and unavailable, to choose a lover who is also married and not to get greedy with meet-ups.

Or, alternatively, you could do the right thing and break up with the person you're cheating on. Just a thought.
