One in three Gen Z workers are too scared to do one common thing in the workplace

There was a big difference between how much men and women were afraid of doing it too

No matter how much you get to know a place, day in, day out, some things just feel a little awkward to do there.

Maybe it feels like you know every inch of that wall opposite your desk in the office and yet you’ve still not picked up the courage to try sitting in those comfy seats no one ever seems to use in the corner.

But for others, it seems their workplace fear is something very, very normal. Apparently, one in three Gen Z workers are too scared to do this common thing and let’s just say it could lead to them feeling far more uncomfortable sitting at their desk.

Yep, they’re too scared to use the office toilets.

According to a study by online bathroom appliance purveyor QS Supplies, a whole load of Gen Zers are quite literally scared sh**less by the thought of spending a penny at work.

The UK-based company surveyed over 1,000 employees on their workplace toilet habits to calculate the impact of bathroom breaks on company productivity.

And, well, it seems there’s something that a load of people are definitely not producing.

The study found that one in 12 employees have never been for a poo at work, with a whopping 34 percent simply scared to use the bathrooms.

Out of all of them, around 19 percent simply refuse to go at work and one in four will happily hold it in until they get back home. Imagine their face if they get asked to do some overtime.

It’s Gen Z who are most responsible for these figures, with 11 percent of them saying they’ve never done a poo at work with a whopping 36 percent living in fear of needing to do so.

Turns out there’s quite a big difference between genders too as nearly half of women are scared of having a poo at work (48 percent) compared to a mere 19 percent of men.

While some people might see going to sit down on the loo as a bit of a break from having to work, others offered up reasons for why they fear it so much.

Fifty-nine percent say a lack of privacy is a major concern, followed by being mortified by the smell (57 percent) and then worried about the sounds (47 percent).

Worryingly, some say that holding it in all day has caused them problems including stomach pain and discomfort (64 percent), extra stress (45 percent) and constipation (39 percent).
