A woman describes how participating in 'hotwifing' has impacted her marriage.

In case you haven't heard, hotwifing is a new sex trend which is only getting more and more popular around the world, as plenty of couples continue to embrace the idea of swinging, ranging from throuples to 'spicy cruises'.

However, while opening your relationship to include other people may not be everyone's cup of tea, those who do partake in 'hotwifing' have said it has 'saved their relationships'.

And for one content creator, 'hotwifing' has had a positive effect on her and her husband's relationship.

What is a 'hotwife'?

Much like 'cuckholding', the sexual fetish where men watch their partners with another person, 'hotwifing' essentially sees a male partner encourage his wife to sleep with lots of different people.

In some instances, the husband may also watch what their wife gets up to.

As for why some men like the idea of their wife being intimate with someone else, one husband compared it to 'letting your friend test drive your car', as he told Mail Online: "He gets to see how well it rides. He’s got to give it back, but it creates a sense of pride."

How did Holly Jones get into the lifestyle?

Adult content creator Holly Jones is a big fan of the hotwife lifestyle after she was introduced to the idea by her now-husband on their very first date, enjoying an 'accidental' foursome with another couple.

Speaking on the Holly Randall Unfiltered podcast, she said: "He was in the lifestyle before. He introduced me to it and ever since our first date we've been pretty much hotwifing."

Revealing why her husband loves it so much, Holly added: "He would always say 'I have the hottest woman in the world, why would I not want to share?

"'I have this cool LEGO set, why would I not want to show it to my boys?' It's not the degrading aspect, it's like, 'Look what I have.' It's kind of the trophy thing, but it fulfils his fantasies so there's nothing disrespectful about it. It's comfortable to us."

According to Holly, their decision to open their relationship has made their relationship stronger, as she said that there's 'so much communication, there's so much honesty and trust' as she and her husband can 'talk about anything and everything'.

Holly added: "I have a best friend, a husband, a teammate. We're parents together. You share that, so you can grow, grow, grow. If we're stagnant in our relationship, we're not doing anything.

"The moment you confess a fantasy, you're taking a step forward, and that is how your relationship grows."

She continued to say that hotwifing 'depends on personalities', as she added: "We don't really have jealously issues or insecurities."

What have the experts said?

Naturally, there are some downsides to the trend, with one sex expert suggesting that it might not be as progressive as some people think.

Claudia Aguirre told Men’s Health: “Some men [who are] into the cuckold/hotwife lifestyle give the impression that they are a whole lot less interested in their wives’ sexual freedom and much more into choreographing their own pleasure.

“And, in some instances, a wife may not enjoy being a character in her husband’s scripts.”

However, plenty of sex experts seem to agree that as long as it is consensual and both partners are enjoying themselves, this could be a great way to add a bit of excitement to a relationship.

Men's Health sex podcaster, Jess O’Reilly, said: "Debrief after new encounters to ensure you both feel safe and cared for.

"When things go well, you can use the conversation and memories to fuel excitement and connection. If things don’t go well, you can share insights, offer support, and discuss how you might do things differently in the future."
