It turns out there is a way for a man to last longer in bed without taking any pills.
If having longer sex is what you desire, and you don't plan on taking any medication, then the folks at Lloyds Pharmacy have offered a few alternatives.
First there's the 'squeeze technique', which 'involves squeezing the end of the penis when you are just about to ejaculate'.
"Doing this will help you to learn to recognise the 'point of no return', i.e. the point when ejaculation is inevitable and can’t be stopped, no matter how hard you try," they explained.

"Recognising how this feels and 'doing the squeeze' just before you reach that moment can delay ejaculation. This will take time, but practice makes perfect."
Perhaps the easiest technique, however, is the 'stop-start method'.

It's basically stopping sexual stimulation just before you feel you are about to finish.
"By stopping sex or reducing stimulation when you feel you are just about to ejaculate, your impulse to ejaculate will be reduced," they suggested.

"This works in a similar way to the squeeze technique, in that the more you practise this technique, the more confident you will feel about delaying ejaculation.
"Over time, you should be able to build control during sex without stopping."
Lloyds say you can practice both of these techniques while masturbating, as 'some men find it helpful to masturbate almost to the point of ejaculation and then to stop'.
"Repeating this two or three times before ejaculating can help build control," they added.

Another thing to try are 'pelvic floor exercises' that supposedly 'strengthen the muscles that can help you control or delay ejaculation'.
Kegel exercises (pelvic floor training) help men strengthen muscles that support the bladder, bowel and sexual function.
To locate them, imagine stopping wind, pausing urine flow midstream, or 'pulling the penis inward', Lloyds says.
You can start with slow kegels (contract 5–10 seconds, then relax) and then with fast kegels (quick contractions and releases).
But as well as considering how long men want sex to last, research conducted by SaucyDates.com revealed that the 3,836 women sampled actually preferred a session to be an average of 25 minutes and 51 seconds long.

Yet in the real world, a man can last in bed for just under 20 minutes, on average, while women tend to reach orgasm in 13 minutes and 41 seconds, according to a study published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine.
As common sense would suggest though, it's worth chatting to your partner about your sexual preferences if you haven't done so already.
