Some of us are a bit guilty of hanging up our Christmas decorations a little bit too early, and the build-up to the festive season often seems endless before the day itself goes in a flash.
For those of us still clinging onto summer, it may surprise you to know that one woman has already decorated her home in build-up to the big day – 109 days before Christmas Day, to be precise.
The woman in question is mum Heidi Parrish, who wants to share some festive joy after all the hardships people have faced.
But with the ongoing cost of living crisis, she stressed that the lights will not be on every day.

“I wanted to decorate my home early as making my children and other people smile when they see the lights makes me think, 'what is there not to love about getting into the Christmas spirit early on'," the mum-of-four said to GrimsbyLive in defense of her decision.
"Especially after the pandemic, I think it made us all realise there is truly no time like the present so why not?
"For now, I’m planning to only turn on the lights occasionally such as when we have friends over to ensure I’m not wasting energy and to keep costs to a minimum.”
Parrish has more than 50,000 Instagram followers and revealed on the platform that her early festive spirit was in partnership with with online home and garden retailer Christow.

"You know how much I love all seasons and any chance to buy beautiful decor and last Christmas I found such a lush place to buy lots of my outdoor lights from @christow_home and this year we’ve been lucky enough to work with them!" she wrote on Instagram.
"So they’ve sent me a selection of lights and I couldn’t wait to get into the Christmas spirit. How pretty do they look I cannot wait for Christmas and to enjoy all the festivities. Just remember only 3.5 months until Christmas!"
Heidi is not alone in getting into the festive spirit early, with many seemingly choosing to buy their Christmas decorations earlier and earlier each year.
Josh Piercy, ECommerce Director at Christow, said: “Since the pandemic we’ve seen a trend of people decorating their homes a lot earlier than before.

"We think that the hardships and isolation of the pandemic led people to want to get in the festive mood earlier to make up for the Christmases lost to the pandemic.
"Last year, we sold out of some of our products earlier due to the very early demand for products and some customers were disappointed when they went to purchase products in December.
"This year we’ve stocked up to ensure that we can cater to all customers, whether they want to purchase today or on Christmas Eve.”
