A sex expert has opened up about a specific kink that's caught the attention of millions online.

According to some women on TikTok, most straight men are apparently not aware of a kink they apparently like in the bedroom.

For those who haven't yet Googled what a kink is, it's basically a non-conventional act people enjoy doing with their sexual partners.

Contrary to popular belief, a kink doesn't have to involve leather straps and ropes, and can instead involve verbal acts between two, or more, people.

It can basically be whatever you're into.

But a term that has been racking up 'millions' of searches online for some time now is a 'praise kink'.

And before you jump to conclusions, it's not just a case of enjoying words of affirmation.

What is a praise kink?

Over on TikTok, sex professor Dr Nicole K McNichols (@nicole_thesexprofessor) explains: "People who have praise kinks get turned on by their partner complimenting them during sex.

"Praise kinks exist on a continuum of course because, I mean, who doesn't love being told that they're beautiful or hot or amazing in some way?

"I mean, words of affirmation are a love language after all, especially for people who grew up maybe not hearing a lot of them."

The expert said in the 2022 video: "I'm looking at you, Gen X, but receiving praise can be a turn on. Feeling wanted and desired in general is a huge aphrodisiac."

She also noted that 'for some people though, a praise kink is a bit more extreme'.

"I mean, if you love being told, Good girl, good boy, you feel so good. It feels amazing when you blank and you might have a praise kink.

"In which case, good for you, because I think that makes you amazing," Dr McNichols said.

Women are now telling their partners about their praise kink

Data columnist Jana Hocking previously told the Daily Mail in 2023 that 'it's horrendously self-centred, slightly narcissistic, and probably a bit shameless to admit to'.

Hocking also admitted she was 'very much on board with it', adding: "It has had a whopping 60 million views on TikTok so clearly I'm not the only one lapping it up."

In the TikTok comments section, one person said: “I told him. He does it more now. Best day ever!”

“I can assure you that most romance book girls would likely have this kink,” another added.

"This guy was feeding my praise kink all game without even knowing it," a third revealed.
