A man who has undergone a series of extreme body modifications to 'look like an orc' has shared a photo of what he looked like before his modifications.

Fernando Franco de Oliveira, from Brazil, has had his nose and part of his ears removed, and now has implants in his forehead.

He's also had his tongue split and has covered 99 percent of his body in tattoos, in his attempt to look like an orc from Lord of the Rings, which were described by author J. R. R. Tolkien as as brutish, aggressive and ugly as well as evil.

However, he recently shocked his social media followers by sharing a snap of himself prior to having tattoos and body modifications.

Now considered to be the most tattooed man in Brazil, Fernando has set out on a quest to make himself look like the fictional creature - but in the throwback snaps, Fernando looks unrecognisable with his natural looks and full head of dark hair.

Fernando, who owns a tattoo studio, has admitted that his transformation has been pretty painful, but went on to say that he's 'addicted' to pain. So that's worked out well then.

The tattoo artist said that having his nose taken off was the 'heaviest' work he'd had done, but said he can still breathe normally - although, it did take a 'long time to heal' and required a 'great deal of care'.

Speaking on Tattoo Artist's Day in Brazil on 20 July, he said: "I have a forked tongue, an 'orc' ear, vampire teeth and horn implants in my head.

"The last one I did, to make me look completely frightening, was my nose. I mutilated it to look like a skull."

And he's not done yet, because although he's pretty much a dead ringer for an orc, he still has some more work planned.

He revealed: "I have had everything tattooed except my palms and the soles of my feet.

"I really like the pain of needles, I am addicted.

"Every now and then I get the need to touch up the tattoos because I don't have enough space on my body."

He also revealed he plans on getting more horn implants in his head and is considering having his orc ears 'remodelled'.
