Nostradamus might be dead as a doornail but that hasn't stopped the lean, mean prediction machine from making a chilling call on something that'll happen at the end of 2025.
He shuffled off his mortal coil almost 500 years ago but he left behind a very cryptic book called Les Prophéties which fans of the Frenchman claim made several accurate assessments of the future.
His supporters claim he successfully predicted the Great Fire of London, the French Revolution and subsequent rise of Napoleon, Hitler's rise to power and both world wars.
Of course, he never comes out and says these things will happen in explicit detail, Nostradamus doesn't say 'in 1666 a bakery on London's Pudding Lane will catch fire and burn down much of the city'.
Nostradamus loved making predictions (Stephane Ruet/Sygma via Getty Images) Instead, he wrote: "The blood of the just will commit a fault at London, Burnt through lightning of twenty threes the six: The ancient lady will fall from her high place, Several of the same sect will be killed."
From there it's basically someone else's job to put the pieces together and declare him right, and there's some who reckon his prediction for the end of this year bodes ill for us.
That's another thing about these apparent prophets, they're basically all a bunch of doomsayers who say things are going to get worse instead of saying they actually might improve.
As for his latest prediction that's been linked to the end of the year, Nostradamus said: "When Mars rules his path among the stars, human blood will sprinkle the sanctuary.
"Three fires rise from the Eastern sides, while the West loses its light in silence."
In case you're not sure what that's supposed to mean, Mars is the Roman war god and the idea of 'human blood' being sprinkled doesn't sound particularly promising.

His other predictions for 2025 are said to include the Earth being struck by a 'fireball' from space and of England being devastated by conflicts in Europe.
However, plenty of the things he's said have turned out not to come true, in case you were worried that centuries after his death Nostradamus had a better grasp on what's going to happen in the world than anyone currently alive.
Meanwhile, according to more contemporary predictions, if the UK wants to prepare for war then it needs to be ready within the next three to four years.
That's according to a series of experts who predict that Russia will ramp up its 'grey war' on Europe with more attacks and operations aimed to disrupt countries it has not declared war against.
