Woman's boyfriend had spreadsheet for everything he bought for her down to last penny

We all know that relationships are an investment, but one lad took this more literally than most by creating a spreadsheet to document exactly what he was spending on his other half.

He decided that he was going to track everything that he spent on his girlfriend with a spreadsheet... right down to the last penny. Seriously. And now the whole thing is on TikTok:

The lad's ex-girlfriend, Maddy, subsequently took to TikTok to share either his sheer misery or very detailed organisational skills (depending on your opinion).

She overlayed the video with the caption: "When my ex-bf charged me $3 for a banana and a piece of toast and sent me monthly excel spreadsheets of the money I owed him and I had no idea that's not how normal relationships worked."

This was accompanied by the song lyrics: "I remember when I lost my mind."

It features a pretty glum looking Natalie, and a little digging showed that this viral video was a follow up to an earlier one where she went into detail about the spreadsheet itself (and provided evidence of one).

Maddy explained that she received the spreadsheets monthly and it was even colour coded to make it easier for her to see what she owed her ex.

"He would send me about one of these a month and as you can see he was nice enough to colour code it," she revealed.

"That was great and then at the bottom of this - I think it got cut out - would be the total."

She clarified at the start of the video that she would not allow a romantic interest to treat her like this these days.

As you can imagine, neither of these videos went unnoticed on the social media website and both were viewed at least 2.4 million times respectively by shocked viewers.

One wrote: "For anyone who does not know, this is all a huge red flag."

"Splitting major (bills, groceries, vacations, etc) expenses while living together is completely reasonable for two working adults," remarked a second. "But asking you to pay for a banana & a toast is super weird."

A third joked: "It's like you're living in a hotel and these are your mini bar charges."

"Prayers and condolences to all impacted," remarked a fourth while a fifth added: "The biggest ick of all time."

So, if you're thinking of creating a relationship spreadsheet, this is probably your sign not do it.
