Some of the most recognisable names in the adult industry have made a similar admission about how their careers have affects their lives.
The adult entertainment industry might be the most stigmatised area of work in the world, and actors that have been part of it often lead very different lives as a result.
In the past, some of the stars have spoken out about 'traumatising scenes' that led to their departure from adult films, while others spoke of the 'disgusting' effects that almost left them re-thinking their career choices.

There's a lot of layers to the job that most people or consumers of their content may not be too clued up on, but a number of prominent faces from the adult industry have revealed all over the years, in various interviews and podcasts.
And through their answers, one detail was consistent.
Lana Rhoades

Rhoades, whose real name is Amara Maple, was only part of the industry across two stints totalling eight months across 2016 and 2017, but left her mark as one of the most popular adult actresses ever, having been voted Pornhub's Most Popular Female Performer in 2019.

Rhoades has been very outspoken against the industry since leaving, writing a lengthy statement on X back in 2020, about being over-sexualised since leaving the industry.
Claiming that 'it's not the nudity or consensual sex', she said it's ' the stigma that will follow you for the rest of your life'.
“Your neighbours will tell you that you can’t live next to them bc they have children, your bf’s will tell you that know one else will ever love you bc of your past, and it be held over you everyday of your life [sic],” she added.
While the social media influencer now leads a comfortable life, she noted that she can't wait until she's 'old and unrecognisable' so she can be treated normally by others, while not facing any obstacles in relationships.
When asked by others what her advice would be to women looking to enter the adult entertainment industry, she said: "My answer always is don’t get into porn."
Riley Reid

The 2025 Adult Video News (AVN) Hall of Fame inductee revealed in 2021 that she only creates content exclusively with females, making the decision to help with her real-life relationships.
It seems to have worked, having married Latvian freerunner Pasha Petkuns since 2021, with whom she shares a daughter.
But when speaking to fans in the past, Reid has advised against joining the adult industry at all, despite being part of it herself since 2010.
The 33-year-old said: “I tell them that it makes life really hard, it makes dating really hard, it makes your family life really hard, it makes intimacy hard.”
On a 2018 episode of the Impaulsive podcast, she recalled when one of her exes didn't want to kiss her after work.

Reid said: "He made me feel like maybe I should quit and stuff... he didn't want to kiss me when I came home from work.
"So, like, [it] made me feel like a disgusting person."
Angela White

The Australian adult actress' debut in porn came in 2011, and in 2020, she would become AVN's first ever three-time Female Performer of the Year winner, and she has also ventured into webcam work.

White has been very vocal about her experiences in the porn industry, including how much you get paid based on certain positions, and what it's really like on set.
But despite her overwhelming success, she said in an interview on You Can't Ask That: "It is difficult to find a partner that you truly connect with."
