Brooklyn Beckham has been advised to drop his surname if he wants to live his life of privacy following an appearance in a new 'tasteless' DoorDash ad.
Brooklyn, the son of football icon David Beckham and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, hasn't been far from the headlines in 2026 after his bombshell statement in January admonishing his parents.
He claimed his mum and dad tried to 'ruin' his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz, and that he wanted to live his life privately instead of 'Brand Beckham' coming first.
However, Brooklyn has come in for criticism this week after staring in a DoorDash advert for the 2026 World Cup that appeared to reference his family feud.

"You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home," he smirked in the commercial. "It’s a long story."
Viewers have interpreted this as a dig to his family drama, and so has a PR crisis expert.

PR crisis expert Lauren Beeching has since labelled the ad as 'tasteless' after everything he has said about his family.
'He's turned the whole thing into a joke to sell a takeaway app'
"I think it's actually quite tasteless," Beeching tells LADbible. "So if he was my client, I'd have told him not to do it. It's such a strange choice when you sit with it because it contradicts everything he said.
"Like, in that statement, he wrote himself: 'My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press or manipulation, all you want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.'
"But then he's turned the whole thing into a joke to sell a takeaway app. So you can't say you want a life that is by image and press and then make your private life the image you’re selling.
"So he slated Brand Beckham, then profited off Brad Beckham through his own feud for DoorDash. For me personally, I just think it's such a bizarre thing to do, and you don't get to say you want out and then sell the tickets to it."
A spokesperson for DoorDash told LADbible: "DoorDash's goal throughout the entire World Cup is to support fans no matter where they’re watching games, and our content reflects the fun and frenzy that only this tournament can bring.
"Fans should keep an eye out for how else DoorDash is showing up throughout the World Cup, including new chances to win World Cup tickets with DashPass."
Beeching believes Brooklyn is losing the PR battle against his parents and 'always will think the Beckhams will win'.
'He's broken every PR rule'
The PR expert, who has helped countless celebrities manage their reputations in the eyes of the public, doesn't think Brooklyn has any PR help – or if he does, he isn't listening – going off his 'emotional' statement in January.

So she has instead offered some advice and thinks Brooklyn should consider dropping his Beckham surname if he wants to separate himself from his family.
"I would," she replied when asked if she would recommend the move. "I mean, it's unfortunate. It’s his surname, but when it is Brand Beckham, that's like the name of it, it's an awkward position he's in.
"I think when they heavily still push that name everywhere, he's just forever going to have that following him. I see it all the time, people constantly calling him out for it, that he's profiting off the name.
"It's a tough position for him to be in, but he's laid himself a really, really tough bed to get out of, really. He's broken every PR rule.

"He's going to have support from some youngsters who feel sorry for him, but I think overall he's never ever going to compete with Brad Beckham, unfortunately."
Beeching does have some sympathy for Brooklyn and has given another piece of advice.
'He can't continue insulting the Beckham name while using the Beckham name to profit from it'
"Obviously there's sympathy, he must have had the most bizarre upbringing. I definitely can't relate," she added. "I'm sure there were a lot of strange moments for him."
LADbible have approached Brooklyn Beckham for comment.
