Katherine Ryan has commented on the Beckham family feud by calling Brooklyn an 'ungrateful nepo baby' while saying his parents 'did the best they could'.

Ryan, who has often said she likes to take an 'extreme stance' on things because she's a comedian and it's the 'funniest' position to take given her job, spoke about the growing rift between the Beckhams on her podcast Telling Everybody Everything.

For those who need a refresher, Brooklyn recently released a lengthy statement where he accused his parents of 'trying to ruin' his relationship with his wife Nicola Peltz and claimed he had 'been controlled by my parents for most of my life'.

Responding to the drama, the comedian declared herself to be 'on David and Victoria’s side' and said she thinks Brooklyn 'needs to grow up a little bit'.

She described him as 'the first son of an absolute dynasty family' who was 'like a royal family' living the kind of life that 'comes with many privileges'.

Ryan admitted it was a 'complicated' situation as Brooklyn had lived his entire life in the public eye, which could be 's**t', but she suggested he was living a 'beautiful life' because of it.

She said: "I feel that he has benefited from this a lot, and he doesn’t seem to have the measured emotional intelligence to go, 'In many ways, this has been s**t, but in many ways, this has created me with a beautiful life. My parents are not abusers. My parents performatively or otherwise say nice things about me and give me opportunities.

"I do think a lot of nepo babies struggle with not being able to reach - certainly not eclipse - the success of their parents."

The comedian acknowledged there were difficulties growing up famous, and even more so with even more famous parents, but suggested that Brooklyn should 'give your parents a break' and thinks they 'did the best they could'.

She added that Brooklyn could still put some distance between himself and the rest of his family while 'showing grace'.

In his first appearance since his eldest son released the statement, David Beckham spoke to CNBC's Squawk Box about the 'power of social media' and how it can be used for 'good and bad'.

He didn't specifically address Brooklyn's statement, but he did say he believed his kids used social media 'for the right reasons' and that he'd tried to 'educate them'.

“They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids," he said.

"You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well."
