Often causing a stir on red carpets, Chappell Roan went viral once again last night (1 February) as she arrived at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.
But rather than it being from what she’s said to paparazzi, on this occasion, it was her iconic outfit that became a talking point.
The ‘Pink Pony Club’ singer arrived at the major night in music rocking an incredible backless burgundy gown held up by nipple piercings.
Taking ‘naked dresses’ to a new level, the 27-year-old star’s Grammys fit quickly did the rounds on social media as an ‘X-rated’ fashion choice.

And Chappell (whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz) has now issued a bit of a response after her appearance left people in shock as she shared a breakdown of her outfit in an Instagram post.

“Giggling because I don’t even think this is THAT outrageous of an outfit,” she wrote.
Her post included images of the full look, which also included a sheer burgundy (perfectly matched to her hair colour) hooded cape which she removed for the red-carpet photos. A masterclass in camp excellence.
“The look’s actually so awesome and weird. I recommend just exercising your free will it’s really fun and silly :D,” the ‘Red Wine Supernova’ singer continued.
“Thank you for having me @grammys and those who voted for me!!”
Chappell then went on to credit all those involved in her look as Mugler was behind her custom outfit.
Oh, and to put a stop to a lot of the chat, her look actually featured prosthetic nipples, with Sasha Glasser one of those credited for the SFX.
But while everyone was focusing on the dress and ‘X-ratedness’ of it all, there was also some real artistry in her amazing tattoos, including a huge one across her back.
Makeup artist Andrew Dahling told Marie Claire that it was about creating something ‘fantasy’, ‘otherworldly’ but also ‘grounded’.

“There was so much going on — the tattoos, the prosthetic nipples, all of it, but overall we wanted everything to feel cohesive and really honour the dress and the medieval world we were living in,” he said. “The glam came from that.”
Fans commented on Chappell’s post to say the ‘outfit was sensational’ as they pointed out how ‘amazing’ she looked.
“SHE MADE ME LOOK (respectfully),” one wrote, as another added: “People need to start having more FUNNNNN.”
Plenty said they are ‘obsessed’ as some said it was their ‘fave look’.
