Charlie Sheen's daughter had a tearful reaction after finding out her dad got sober 'because of her'.
Sheen, now 60, has been sober for almost a decade, after struggling with an addiction to alcohol and drugs.
In his new Netflix documentary, aka Charlie Sheen, and memoir, The Book of Sheen, the Two and a Half Men actor explained how it was an incident with his daughter, Sami Sheen, that led to him finally becoming sober.
Sheen has been married three times and has five children, including 21-year-old Sami, one of two daughters whom he shares with ex-wife Denise Richards.

Speaking of the moment, Sheen explained that one morning he forgot to pick Sami up from an appointment, after drinking three coffees with whiskey.

Unable to get behind the wheel, a friend drove Sheen to pick her up.
"Sam was very quiet," said Sheen.
"I didn't need to be clairvoyant to know exactly what she was thinking."

Referencing what Sami might have been thinking at the time, he wrote in the memoir: "Why is Dad not driving - again?
"Why isn't it just the two of us in the car like it used to be? When will that moment ever return? When will Dad ever return? I miss him."
Sheen added: "I missed him too. There was only one thing that felt worse than betraying myself, and that was failing my children.
"In that car, on that day, with my best friend and a child I adore, I joined Sam in those mirrors and saw a guy who was desperate to finally come home for real."
After the book and doc were released, Sami took to TikTok where she shared a teary reaction to the doc.

"I didn't know I was the reason he got sober," she wrote, adding in the caption: "Honestly a 10/10 documentary."

Sheen is not in contact with Sami, amid an alleged rift over her choice in career.
"It’s awful. I can’t lie to you. But I’m almost unrealistically optimistic, because I have to be... there’s always shots to repair anything," he told Page Six.
"It saddens me, but I have hope and I have faith that it can be restored, but that can’t happen until there’s a line of communication that reopens."

Sami joined OnlyFans - which is popular with adult content creators - back in June 2022, shortly after her 18th birthday.
Sheen was initially disapproving of his daughter's decision, telling E! News that he did 'not condone this'.
"But since I'm unable to prevent it, I urged her to keep it classy, creative and not sacrifice her integrity," he said.
"She is 18 years old now and living with her mother. This did not occur under my roof."
However, the actor later changed his mind on the decision, telling Bustle in 2023 that he'd assumed 'this can only go bad'.

It's unclear what caused the current estrangement, with Sheen recently telling Good Morning America (via E! News): "I don’t really know what I did.
"That’s the problem. I don't know what I’m supposed to apologise for."
"I have absolute faith that this is not a forever thing,” he continued.
"Her and I will work it out. We have a history of that that’s too valuable to let some moment destroy all of that."
