Christina Applegate has made a sad confession about her health condition multiple sclerosis (MS) ahead of her first photoshoot in four years.

The 52-year-old - known for her roles in Anchorman, Bad Moms and Married…With Children - first revealed she had MS back in 2021.

"It's been a strange journey," she tweeted at the time.

"But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition.

"It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a**hole blocks it."

For those unaware, MS is a serious health condition which affects both the brain and spinal cord.

It causes a wide range of symptoms, such as issues with vision, arm or leg movements, sensation or balance, muscle stiffness, numbness and problems with thinking, learning and planning.

Women are more than two to three times more likely to develop MS than men and it most commonly happens between the ages of 20 and 40.

During a recent photoshoot, Applegate was joined alongside The Sopranos actor Jamie-Lynn Sigler, 42, who also suffers from the condition.

The duo - who became friends in 2021 via mutual Lance Bass - are launching a new podcast titled Messy next week.

Now, ahead of the shoot, Applegate revealed she wanted 'to cancel' the whole thing.

"I wouldn’t have done it today without her," she explained.

"I was throwing up last night, thinking about all of it.

"Being touched, makeup and hair, even talking about it, I get spasms.

"Weird positions, shoes, people, noise, climate I can’t control.

"It all goes through my mind, and I want to go back to bed and watch Naked and Afraid."

Earlier this year Applegate took to the Emmys stage with a cane to present the first award of the night.

After the audience got up off their seats to cheer, the actor joked that by standing up, the crowd was making fun of her multiple sclerosis disability.

She said: "Thank you so much," before joking: "Oh my god, you're totally shaming me with disability by standing up. It's fine.

"Body not by Ozempic. Okay, let's go. Some of you may know me as Kelly Bundy from Married... With Children or Samantha from Samantha Who? or Jen Harding from Dead To Me.

"Very few of you probably know me from that debut - I'm going to cry, more than I've been crying. Baby Burt Grizzell on Days of Our Lives. It was my breakout role.

"And for all these years, it's look at that. Been an honour to play funny, flawed, complex characters like the women nominated for supporting actress in a comedy series."

As the crowd applauded, the actor said: "We don’t have to applaud every time I do something.”
