Gaz from Geordie Shore shares shocking photos of skin condition that developed after haircut

Gaz admitted that he has 'never talked about this before'.

Gaz from Geordie Shore has opened up about a recent health battle after developing a skin condition from getting a hair cut.

Reality TV star Gary Beadle - who appeared on the show from 2011 to 2017 - took to social media on Thursday (16 May) to share a series of shocking photos from 2023, which showed the progression of 'white head' growing on his scalp.

Initially, the 36-year-old said he 'thought nothing of it until it started spreading and getting more and more painful'.

He discovered that the scalp acne was actually something called folliculitis decalvans, a rare condition that causes ongoing inflammation of your hair follicles and scalp.

If not treated, it can cause permanent hair loss with scarring.

The celebrity said he 'had to go on steroids and all sorts to stop it spreading'.

He admitted that it got 'worse again' when 'the whole back of my head had gone bald, like, literally whole back of my head had fell out I literally hardly left the house and didn't no what to do'.

"Anyway luckily it healed however left some scaring and patches," Gaz explained.

"That when I started looking up a few things about it and the patches and if there was anything I could do!!

"I’ve heard a little bit about SMP but never thought it would be some thing to help me... it stands for SMP scalp micro pigmentation!!

"Anyway I managed to find Lynden from INKED SCALPS in Leeds well actually (Dewsbury) he sent me some photos of his previous work and copies of all his reviews from different Platforms.

"And after seeing his work etc I was up for going to see him... after one session which hardly hurts almost feels like a light tattoo you could already see the scarring disappearing I had two more sessions and honestly I am so f**king happy I hated the scars and patching and now see it's like it never happened!!"

Commenting on the post, his concerned followers said that their children have also suffered with the skin condition.

One person wrote: "Thank you for sharing this. We're pretty certain this is what our five year old son has.

"It's such a shame as not only does he have the spots and itching, he's also loosing his hair."

"Omg that looks scarily like what my 10yr old daughter has. I’ve been treating it with medicated shampoo from the pharmacy," another added.

"Wow you went through it, that’s a pure infection from the barbers unclean tools, glad you're on the other side x," a third added.
