Jelly Roll's wife explained why she refused to leave him despite singer admitting to having an affair

Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie XO, spoke out about refusing to leave him despite his affair.

In a rare public confession, the singer and rapper admitted he had previously cheated on her. The pair have been married since 2016 and renewed their weddings vows back in 2023.

Real name Jason Bradley DeFord, the musician said he’s proud of the strength of his relationship with his wife (real name Alyssa) nowadays.

But the time he did cheat was particularly difficult for Jelly Roll as he opened up about his regret during an appearance on the Human School podcast on Tuesday (21 October).

“I don't talk about this publicly at all, but one of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife,” the ‘Son of a Sinner’ rapper-singer confessed.

“Because it was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.’ It just really, really, really blew me back."

Jelly Roll went on to say he then did ‘a lot of work’ in order to repair the relationship with Bunnie XO.

“We're stronger than we could have ever been,” he added.

“And I wish our story would have went in the way that it never had an affair. And I'm in no way glad it happened, but man, I'm proud of who we are today."

He made reference to hanging around ‘a bunch of people’ who were ‘cheating on their wives’ at the time, but wasn’t quite clear when the affair happened.

But in a previous TikTok post, Bunnie XO referenced the pair ‘breaking up in 2018’ before getting back together.

Since Jelly Roll’s confession, she’s been critiqued for staying with her husband despite the infidelity.

And she used Ozzy Osbourne’s song ‘No More Tears’ to respond in an Instagram story shortly after.

The supposed ‘fan’ wrote: “Oh my dear. Your husband had an affair on you. You took him back and have sung perfection since. I'm super bummed. We can't look up to you now. Where are your friends. How can anyone support this? Dear lord provide bunny the strength to hop away."

But Bunnie clapped right back as she wrote in a screenshot: “It actually takes a stronger woman to face pain head-on, do the work, and rebuild with the man she loves — instead of running or gossiping.”

She added: “Growth isn’t weakness, it’s grace.”
