Detailing what happened during the appointment, which lasted for 'eight solid hours', the Clarkson's Farm presenter revealed he underwent blood tests, MRI scans and tests on every major organ in the body – including his liver and prostate.

Explaining the 'amazing' way which doctors monitor your liver function, Clarkson explained that he underwent a process which resembled 'the same kind of sonar you find on a submarine'.
"[They] fire a ping [known as a FibroScan] onto the surface of what is our second biggest organ and then they measure how vibrantly the ping comes back," he wrote, explaining that if a person's liver is 'full of fat and gin' the ping will come back quicker then someone whose organ is 'pink and fresh and juicy'.
And if you're wondering how Clarkson's liver is looking after previously revealing he was fond of indulgent foods and drinking 'far too much wine', it's good news – something which took The Grand Tour alum by surprise.

"The man could tell me instantly that mine was fine. That was one hell of a surprise," he wrote.
Clarkson also joked about the less technologically advanced method which doctors use to test your prostate.

A small walnut-sized organ located in the near the bladder and rectum, which only people assigned male at birth have, the prostate is tested by inserting a finger into the bottom – with the old-fashioned manner of testing something with Clarkson found awkward humour in.
"They can photograph your ventricles and every bit of your brain, but if they want to know what’s going on with your prostate, which lives in the anus, for some reason, the doctor has to put his finger in there. I can only assume it’s because he likes it," he penned.

Despite the unpleasant experience, the presenter added that he prefers the exam to a diagnosis of prostate cancer.
"I’ve had too many friends go down with prostate cancer," he added.
