Kelly Osbourne made an emotional ‘final promise’ to her dad, Ozzy.

The ‘Prince of Darkness’ died ‘surrounded by love’ on 22 July, just weeks after he performed a farewell gig with his fellow Black Sabbath band members in Birmingham.

A public procession and private family funeral took place in his beloved home city earlier this week, with touching details spotted on his family’s outfits.

Ozzy had six children, three from his first marriage to Thelma Riley and three from his decades long marriage to Sharon. Kelly is his youngest and, of course, featured in the family’s unforgettable reality show, The Osbournes, which aired on TV back in the early noughties.

She became engaged to her longtime boyfriend Sid Wilson when he proposed backstage at the final concert, in front of Ozzy and family.

And as she stood by her family at the procession on Wednesday, Kelly was reportedly doing her best to keep the promise she made to her dad before his death.

A source told the Daily Mail: “The last few days have been a tough ride, but Kelly has been focused on executing plans with her mum.”

While there have ‘been tears’, the 40-year-old has stood by the agreement she made.

“She promised her dad - who openly spoke about not wanting people to mourn but rather celebrate his life - that she would not crumble in public,” the source added.

Ozzy apparently ‘always pushed’ his family to ‘celebrate what people have done in life’ rather than ‘f**king worry about what’s next’.

As Kelly and her siblings mourn the loss of their dad, they are reportedly ‘concerned about the impact this is having on Sharon’ as it’s ‘heartbreaking’ that the couple have been broken apart.

The rocker was adamant for years about his funeral not being a sad occasion, as he said back in 2011 that he wanted it to be more of a time of saying ‘thanks’.

With there to be ‘no harping on the bad times’, he had told The Times: “It's worth remembering that a lot of people see nothing but misery their whole lives, so by any measure, most of us in this country - especially rock stars like me - are very lucky.

“That's why I don't want my funeral to be sad.”

He was also certain that he didn’t want his ‘f**king greatest hits album’ played at the service, or a ‘f**king happy song’ as he eventually determined he’d like something by The Beatles, ‘probably something from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band or Revolver’.
