Molly-Mae Hague has revealed the real inspiration behind her new son’s name, and it’s not from the Greek myth.
Hague confirmed she’d welcomed her second child with Tommy Fury in a sweet Instagram post on 3 June.
Initially, the pair kept the newborn’s name strictly under wraps, after revealing plans to announce it during Fury’s bout against Eddie Hall earlier this month.
On the night, Fury proudly displayed the name Midas written in gold on his black shorts.

After the name was revealed most folks assumed it was related it was inspired by the Greek myth of King Midas.
According to the myth, King Midas was the ruler of the ancient kingdom of Phrygia and asked the god Dionysus for the power to turn everything he touched into gold.
Although this seemed like a gift, things quickly turned sour for King Midas after he turned his food, drink, and eventually his own daughter into gold.

The king ended up begging the god to remove his fortune-giving caress and was told to wash it off in a nearby river.
The myth is also the origin of the phrase ‘Midas touch’, which is used to describe someone who has the ability to turn anything into a success.
But it turns out the tale wasn’t the inspiration for the name of the latest member of the Fury family.
In a vlog released on Sunday (21 June), Hague explained she had and Fury had the name picked out for ‘quite a few years’ and said that while she was aware of the myth it wasn’t the motivation behind the moniker.
In the clip, which was recorded before the couple revealed the name, Hague explained: “When Tommy wears his kit tomorrow, inside the kit, when we were designing it, we put a little patch inside that says everything he touches turns into gold because I do just think it's so special.
“But equally, he's not necessarily named after the Greek King because I saw a few comments being like, ‘um, King Midas was a fool in Greek mythology. Like this is just so silly if she's called her son this’.

“But the same way Bambi is not necessarily named after the Disney character Bambi, is the same way Midas is not named after the Greek king.”
She then explained the real inspiration.
“This is the most random story,” she said.
“I actually found the name from watching a film called Real Steel, which is like the most random film. It's basically like Transformers.
“It's got Hugh Jackman in it, and it's a film about robots boxing.
“And one of the robots in the film that was boxing was called Midas. I heard the name, and I thought this was years ago. I was like, ‘Wow, that's a really cool strong name.’
“Like Midas, I've never heard of that before. I just thought Midas Fury, I thought, ‘Wow, what a strong name.’
“When I mentioned it to Tommy, he just absolutely fell in love with it.”
