Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have confirmed their son's name is Midas Fury – but what does it mean?
Fury confirmed the newborn's moniker during his fight against Eddie Hall last night, walking out with the name emblazoned on his jacket and shorts at the exhibition bout in Manchester.
The name is markedly different from the Disney-inspired Bambi, which the couple had previously revealed was a dream name for both of them – so what does Midas mean exactly?
What is the meaning behind the name Midas?
The name Midas has its roots in ancient Greece. While The Bump notes that the exact meaning of the name has been lost to time, Midas is heavily associated with gold and wealth – all thanks to a legendary king.

According to Greek mythology, King Midas was the ruler of the ancient kingdom of Phrygia (situated in modern-day Türkiye) and had the power to turn everything he touched into gold.
The ruler was granted this ability after helping out Dionysus, god of wine-making, revelry and ritual madness, and soon realised that having the golden touch was not actually a good idea after all.
After turning his food, drink and daughter into gold, Midas begged the god to reverse his fortune-giving caress, with Dionysus instructing him to wash away the curse in a nearby river. Be careful what you wish for.
The myth is the inspiration behind the saying 'Midas touch' used to describe a person with the uncanny ability to be successful in everything they try their hand at.
The foolish king later crops up in another myth, this time being cursed with a pair of donkey ears after angering the god Apollo.

Molly-Mae previously teased that their son's name would be revealed in Tommy's boxing match, revealing that she'd been weighing up putting the little one's name onto his father's boxing shorts in a recent vlog.
“I've been designing Tommy's shorts for his fight, and I'm thinking about potentially putting I don't know if we're going like I don't [because] I don’t know what the timeline's going to be," she said in the YouTube vlog.
“I'm thinking, do I put the name of baby number two on his fight shorts? Because he always has Bambi's name on his fight shorts, and I don't want to leave the second baby off," she continued.
"But also maybe that's how we announce the name is on his fight shorts. That would actually be quite cool."

How do you pronounce Midas?
So now you know what Midas means, the next question is: how do you pronounce it?
A quick Google search reveals the moniker is pronounced 'MY-duss', with the stress being on the first syllable. Certainly not 'mee-dass' or 'mid-ASS', which several people have been saying when discussing the name on social media.
The influencer and businesswoman had previously predicted that people would mispronounce Midas in a vlog, revealing that even members of her family had been struggling with the moniker.
"I know people are going to pronounce it wrong," she said. "When I’ve mentioned the name to a few people, I’ve spelt it out because I had this complex about people saying it wrong. I’ve spelt it out and then a few of my friends have said it completely wrong and absolutely not how you pronounce it.
"But then also, I think if you know this word or you know the name, you’d pronounce it how it is."
