Orlando Bloom has broken his silence on his split from Katy Perry.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star gave his honest views on the situation earlier today (5 September).
Having gotten engaged in 2019, been together on-and-off since 2016 and welcomed daughter Daisy Dove together in 2020, it was reported the pair had separated in June this year.
As Perry has continued with her Lifetimes world tour, Bloom has been doing press for his new film, The Cut, (out today) which led to these fresh comments about their relationship.

The actor also spoke to LADbible about the movie as he lost 30 lbs in three months, admitting he probably wasn’t ‘a lot of fun to be around’ for some of that time as he faced ‘extreme’ effects.

And during his chat on NBC’s Today, he addressed some of his other ‘personal changes’.
“How are you doing?” asked host Craig Melvin.
“I'm great, man. I'm so grateful,” Bloom said as he went on to speak about Daisy: “We have the most beautiful daughter.

“You know when you leave everything on the field like I did in this movie? I feel grateful for all of it."
He added: “And we're great. We're going to be great. Nothing but love.”
As speculation began that the pair had split earlier this summer, they sent out a joint statement via a representative to confirm their separation.
They said: “Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”

Bloom hasn’t really directly commented on the split until now though, having only reposted a number of quotes on his Instagram Stories in the wake of the breakup news.

These included looking into the idea of ‘loneliness’ and that even a happy life needs to be balanced by ‘sadness’.
The screenshot was of an article about psychiatrist Carl Jung, as Bloom highlighted: “Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself.”
The actor then also posted the quote: “We are not what happened to us, we are what we choose to become.”

And for Perry, she was in Australia for her tour as a fan captured her in a video visibly emotional forming her hands into a heart shape.
“Thank you for always being there for me, Australia. It means the world,” she said, before taking a deep breath. “Now let’s sing ‘Firework’!”
