Paris Fury has defended the decision to let teenage daughter Venezuela get engaged.

Last month, the mother-of-seven surprised followers by revealing her eldest daughter had gotten engaged while celebrating her 16th birthday.

Sharing the moment in a video on Instagram, Venezuela is seen standing in the middle of the dancefloor as her boyfriend gets down on one knee.

The moment caused division among fans of the Fury clan, as several people pointed out that Venezuela is still legally considered a child and therefore too young to be engaged; others defended the move, saying it was in line with the family's Irish Traveller beliefs.

Paris - who is the wife of champion boxer Tyson Fury - has now doubled down on the decision in a new interview, saying the family are 'all really happy for her'.

Speaking about the engagement in an interview with The Mirror, Paris acknowledged her daughter was still young but said the milestone was 'in line with our traditions and values'.

"I did encourage her to wait as long as possible, but she was determined," the 35-year-old explained.

"We're all really happy for her and Noah—they’re a great match and genuinely excited about this next chapter in her life. Yes, she’s young, but as we all know, that’s in line with our traditions and values.

"I was engaged to Tyson at 17, so we’re not far off in age."

Under current UK law, couples in England and Wales must be 18 before being able to legally get married, while Scottish law allows couples as young as 16 to tie the knot.

Paris and Tyson are said to have began their relationship on her 16th birthday, later marrying when they where 19 and 21 respectively.

The couple, who share seven children together, have since renewed their vows twice in the following years.

Who is Venezuela Fury's fiancé?

Tyson Fury's future son-in-law is Noah Price, an amateur boxer who is associated with the club Chesterfield ABC. His age has not been publicly confirmed.

However, the young fighter can count on his future father-in-law for support, as Tyson recently spoke out in favour of couple's tying the knot young.

In a post shared on his Instagram Story, which fans believe is in response to the backlash against his daughter, the boxer reshared a post with the following message (via MailOnline): "50 years ago people got married at 18 and stayed together until death. Today people wait until 30 to get married and divorce within three years.

"Back then, couples had nothing but built everything together. Now couples have everything but can't build anything together."
