Fans have responded after Paris Fury shared news that her 16-year-old daughter Venezuela got engaged over the weekend.
The mum-of-seven took to social media to share a video of the proposal, which took place on the dance floor at her daughter's 16th birthday party.
Not much is known about the teenager's boyfriend, though it's believed that his name is Noah Price, and much like his future father-in-law, he is a boxer, though his Instagram account is littered with snaps of him with Venezuela.
In the caption of the Instagram video, Paris wrote: “Congratulations to @venezuelafuryofficial and @7noahprice on getting engaged. Both only young, but when you know, you know."
“Still in shock but very happy for you both. Me and your Dad couldn’t be prouder xxx @tysonfury,” she added.
Despite the family's happiness and support, criticism has come from all angles online.
Paris shared the video of her daughter's big moment on her Instagram page (Instagram/@parisfury1) Many pointed out Venezuela's age, which is the age at which thousands of teens across the country tend to receive their GCSE results.
But among Paris' 1.9 million social media followers were some messages of support, as one wrote: "Everyone with their negative comments - this is a part of their culture. This is totally normal in a travelling community."
Another added: "Absolutely beautiful video, it's travellers tradition to marry young and have their own family. She's stunning and he seems lovely and besotted.
"If I had a 16 year old and had to choose between her settling down with her soulmate or ambling about every weekend taking up with different guys i know what I'd choose!"
Others also pointed out that her parents first met at a wedding in 2005, before meeting again on Paris's 16th birthday and starting their relationship.
Tyson and Paris got married when she was 19 and he was 21, and the couple renewed their vows for a second time in August last year at the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southern France, as a third said: “For everyone saying she’s too young - Paris got with Tyson at her 16th birthday & they’re still here happily married with a lovely little family 18yrs later ….don't be haters.”
This hasn't stopped others from being more critical of the upcoming marriage, which legally can't take place until both are 18, under the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Minimum Age) Act, which used to have the minimum age at 16.
Price popped the question at Venezuela's birthday party (Instagram/@parisfury1) It means that they'll have to wait at least two years to tie the knot, but some people don't seem to care, as a different user wrote: "Why are we celebrating a 16 yr old getting engaged? Shouldn’t she be looking at colleges instead of planning a wedding?"
A fifth posted: "This child is 16! @parisfury1 @tysonfury you have worked so hard to give your children a better life. Let your daughter see the world not tie herself down to a boy! Madness."
It should be noted that while many believe that people in travelling communities marry early, there is no rule or requirement to do so, while individual accounts vary from person to person, despite it being a part of some cultures.
