Clarkson's Farm viewers are calling for Charlie to have his own mini series

Clarkson's Farm viewers are calling for Charlie to have his own mini series

His experience, knowledge and diplomacy is invaluable to Clarkson, and fans would like to see him front his own show

It's been almost two weeks since the second season of Clarkson's Farm dropped on Prime Video, and it remains number one on the streaming service's UK top 10.

The first series was released in June 2021 and its enormous popularity came as a surprise - even to Jeremy Clarkson himself. As such, the bar was high for the second instalment, and thankfully it has not disappointed.

The show sees Clarkson trade in expensive cars for costly livestock as he attempts to farm the 1,000 acres of land he owns in the Cotswolds, and both fans and critics of the controversial broadcaster have binged their way through it.

The good news is that a third series is on the way, but fans are also calling for Charlie Ireland to get his own spin-off.

The land agent and advisor - typically referred to as 'Cheerful Charlie' - brings invaluable knowledge, experience and diplomacy to Diddly Squat farm; and over on Reddit, people have been pouring praise on his cheerfulness, with viewers particularly enjoying how his approach to the council evolves across the series.

One fan wrote: "Love that Charlie realises that council members were ruling against Clarkson just to rule against him and not ruling in the best interest of the local farmers. I was silently cheering when he started suggesting sneaking projects under their noses and utilising every loophole possible."

Another wrote: "It's amazing, I think the council have fundamentally changed Charlie. Astonishing."

A third wrote: "The best thing about Season 2 is the arc of Charlie bending towards Jeremy's point of view with respect to the restaurant as they go through to approval process. Turning point was the cooperative imo. Great to see him fully behind the idea at the end."

While another added: "Charlie is like that hero who spends his whole life being good and by the book until that one fateful day where he realises the rulers are there to screw him.. thus his origin story."

This evolution of Charlie prompted calls for an unlikely Charlie spin-off.

"We need a mini series where Charlie realises that he is the evil genius that we all know he can be," one fan declared.

In truth though, Clarkson's Farm fans would welcome a spin-off about any of the key characters down at Diddly Squat.

Indeed, asked why exactly he thought the show has proven to be so popular, Clarkson was confident it wasn't down to him.

Surely a Gerald spin-off is needed?

"Kaleb," he told LADbible unwaveringly, referring to his aggressively local employee, who frustratedly attempts to teach him the fundamentals of farming.

"I think he's an absolute star," Clarkson continued.

"And what I love about Kaleb is he just has no airs and graces around me at all, it's just, 'You f***ing useless w***er.'

"That happens on a daily basis, and I live in constant fear of upsetting him - which I know I've done. I did something yesterday so bad, and I know he's going to find out, and I couldn't sleep last night thinking, 'He is going to be livid with me.'"

As for Kaleb, he is adamant that Kaleb's Farm would be a more apt name for the show.

"He's definitely not my boss," Kaleb told LADbible. "He will say that he's my boss, and technically he owns the farm, but he's not my boss."

So whether it's Kaleb's Farm or Cheerful Charlie Goes Bad, please just commission it Prime Video, OK?
