Evanescence’s ‘Bring Me To Life’ has randomly reached number one on US iTunes Charts 19 years after release

The popular song has made a resurgence following the band co-headlining with Korn for their US tour.

Evanescence’s ‘Bring Me To Life’ has bizarrely climbed to the number one slot on the US iTunes charts almost two decades after its release.

While we admit the song is a banger, we never expected it would make a comeback quite like this.

‘Bring Me To Life’ has taken out the top spot, even clipping the likes of Nicki Minaj’s ‘Super Freaky Girl’ and ‘As It Was’ by Harry Styles.

Evanescence took to their social media to thank their loyal fans, writing: “19 years and still going strong! Bring Me To Life is #1 on iTunes. Thank you for the love!”

But the song’s resurgence doesn’t stop there because it’s also climbed to number five on Billboard’s Top 100.

However, we have a feeling this might have something to do with the band’s co-headline tour with Korn, which has been receiving rave reviews.

Fans recently went crazy for the two joining forces for the latest US tour, with pictures and videos circulating the internet capturing a little early 2000s nostalgia - which we are all here for.

One person wrote via Twitter: “THE BEST DUO EVER they are pure magic together.”

Another said: “Ears a ringing, first concert attended in like three years now. Korn and Evanescence put on a hell of a show.”

While a third person marvelled: “WENT TO A KORN AND EVANESCENCE CONCERT AND THEY SUNG FREAK ON A LEASH TOGETHER AS AN ENCORE THIS WAS SO HYPE.”

‘Bring To Life’ marks the band’s height of success in 2003, which was part of their Fallen album, which sold more than 17 million copies and led to two Grammy Awards.

While speaking to Sonic Seducer last year, the band’s front woman Amy Lee revealed that the certified platinum song is actually about her husband.

Lee disclosed she wrote it before they even started dating, as he was a friend consoling her while she was in a bad relationship.

She said: “There was this moment, I was in a tough place and in a bad relationship, and my husband now, Josh, at the time was just a friend and a person that I barely knew.

“It was maybe the third or fourth time we'd ever met and we went in to go grab a seat at a restaurant while our friends parked the car. We sat across from each other, and he looked at me and he just said, 'So, are you happy?’”

Lee added: “It's amazing that that became the song, the first song that broke us on to the scene and made everyone hear of us, because it was about something so personal that I was recognising in my life."
