Dr. Pimple Popper Is Set To Get Her Own TV Special

If you're one of the millions of people who apparently enjoy watching people get their zits squeezed out, no doubt you're going to love this.

Dr. Pimple Popper - the YouTube name of the pimple-loving dermatologist Dr. Sandra Lee - will soon be getting her own TV special on the channel TLC.

Dr. Lee has more than three million subscribers on YouTube for her gross yet weirdly satisfying videos of her popping people's zits and cysts.

In an announcement on her Instagram page, Dr. Lee confirmed that the show will be called This is Zit (genius name) and will debut next Wednesday January 3.

"There is a new special premiering on Facebook Watch on the TLC Channel. And it's called This is Zit," she said.

"It is behind the scenes footage of what I do in my office, how I go about doing it, more explanation about the types of things that I pop out, a lot of my favorite videos, a lot of my top pops. They are there just for you. And! Three never before seen pops are there for you as well."

The first episode of the show features Lee removing an epidermoid cyst, a cyst which appears when skin has "turned under and formed a little sac", making the skin look like porridge, a hard boiled egg, or wet newspaper. Eurgh.

In another video for the series, Dr. Lee asks: "Isn't it absolutely fascinating what comes out of our skin?"

Some might call it fascinating; others might just call it really bloody disgusting, but hey, each to their own.

If the popularity of Dr. Lee's video is anything to go by, This Is Zit is going to prove nothing else but a huge success, no matter how revolting its subject matter.

After all, who isn't excited to see blackheads, whiteheads and cysts get cut open and removed in unflinching high definition on prime-time telly?

There are enough gross-out shows on TV already, so no doubt Dr. Lee's This Is Zit will fit in just fine. Just make sure not to sit down and watch it while you're eating your tea.
