With a team described as 'Earth's mightiest heroes', it can be pretty difficult deciding just who is the best member of the Avengers.

Is it the god of thunder known as Thor? Or what about the heavy metal hero Iron Man? In the run-up to the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame, we put together a poll on Twitter to find out your favourite of these two key players. And the results are in...
You guys decided Thor was number one.
This might come as a surprise to some, although it's worth pointing out that the cape-wearer played by Chris Hemsworth only won by the skin of his teeth, bagging 51 per cent of the votes compared to Iron Man's 48 per cent.
The reaction to the poll from the Marvel fandom members was mixed - some were delighted that Thor took top spot, with comments ranging from, "Post-Ragnarok Thor is the best, no doubt about it," and, "Anyone who says other than Thor is lying."
However, some quickly jumped to Iron Man's defense. "Thor's popularity literally rose due to that one scene in infinity war, Iron Man any day," said one user.
What with the limitations of a two-hero vote, there were also many who dismissed both heroes for the likes of Captain America, Spider-Man and the Hulk. "Voted Thor but obviously it's Captain America," said a fan, while another added, "Should of put Spider-Man in though."
It's safe to say that choosing the right Avenger is very much a subjective job - and as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow and progress, people's opinions will undoubtedly shift over time.

"Captain Marvel wins this audience vote in 2020 by a large large margin," was the statement made by one savvy fan, who appears to be preempting the superhero's newfound popularity thanks to the recent release of her standalone film.
As reported by THR, this sentiment was shared by Marvel boss Kevin Feige when he said that not only will Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) stand as the most powerful hero in the team, but that she'll be at the centre of the MCU going forward.

Or maybe you don't even have a favourite. After all, the reason the Avengers work so well together is that they all come with their own set of unique and differing strengths - each and every one of them play an integral part of the team.
Either way, no matter what kind of MCU fan you are - whether you're team Black Widow or you're more of an Iron Man kinda guy or gal - there's one thing that we can all agree on, the release date for Avengers: Endgame can't come soon enough. 26 April, people - get it in the diary.
