There are many different kinds of Christmas presents: cheap, personal, heartfelt, kinky.
Then there's the downright cruel.
So, what to get a Spider-Man fan if you're feeling a little savage?

Well, one Reddit user had the inspired idea of a pepper-shaker with a twist. LoneFOX shared a picture of the peppery present on the site, which is adorned with a 'Spider-Man' label.
Explaining the gift, they said: "A friend of mine is a big MCU fan and her favourite character is Spider-Man. Tomorrow we're doing a horrible gift exchange so I decided to make her this!"
For those of you wondering what exactly is so cruel about giving your friend a condiment with a misleading label, you clearly haven't watched Avengers: Infinity War.

The arachnid superhero is turned into a pepper receptacle at the end of the film by super-villain Thanos. Hence the gift.
... OK, that's not true. But he is 'dusted' by Thanos in the film, and the pepper is therefore supposed to represent the powdery remains of the web-spinner.
Now, what meal isn't enhanced by a sprinkling of your hero's dusty leftovers?
Of course, cruel presents are often the most affectionate really. Indeed, is a friend really a friend at all if you can't call them a prick or buy them shit they don't want?

Plus, the Super-Man fan will no doubt have taken some comfort from the Marvel character's eagerly anticipated revival next year.
The hero's second solo Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, is due to be released on 5 July, and will star Jake Gyllenhaal as villain Mysterio.
Spidey is also expected to return in Avengers: Endgame, which is released on 24 April. How exactly he might return though is unclear. Indeed, the trailer for the film left us with more questions than answers.

It seems unlikely he will some how un-dust himself, like a phoenix, so maybe some sort of time travel may engender his reappearance?
Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds has been getting involved with a bit of Avengers-themed gifting of late. The actor sent a prankster a briefcase with headphones and a gin and tonic carry-on cocktail kit inside after they bought the AvengersEndgame.com domain and turned it into a redirect to a edited Avengers trailer where all the characters had a Deadpool head.
No doubt the Super-Man fan would have preferred a similarly generous gift... Hopefully the Spidey pepper hasn't left them too shaken.
