It honestly feels hard to keep up with the latest TV and film drops lately.

From hit thriller series landing on ITV and ‘must watch’ shows on BBC iPlayer to new sci-fi watches on Netflix and trailers for upcoming movies, it almost makes it difficult to choose just one thing to sit and watch.

And now Amazon Prime has complicated things even more - except this might be worth sticking at the top of your list.

One of the best films of 2023 - an Oscar-winning movie - has just landed on the streaming service.

Starring Oscar-nominee Sandra Huller, the English and French language thriller drama won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.

Anatomy of a Fall sees a woman who is suspected for the murder of her husband while their half-blind son faces a moral dilemma as the only witness.

The film also features Samuel Theis and Milo Machado-Graner and is directed by Justine Triet, from a screenplay she co-wrote with Arthur Harari.

Oh, and remember the dog that was sat in the audience at the Oscars earlier this month?

That’s Messi, the Border Collie who also features in Anatomy of a Fall and won the Palm Dog Award at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

The movie goes deep into the murder trial with its genre also being a bit of a legal film but then it also features moments of dark comedy - something many love it for in particular.

The film won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.

Premiering in May last year, Anatomy of a Fall was nominated for five Oscars in total and also won six awards at the 49th César Awards, including Best Film.

The hit film also picked up awards at a number of film festivals, the British Independent Film Awards, the Golden Globe Awards and the British Academy Film Awards.

It’s currently sitting at an impressive 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer where critics have call it ‘one of the greatest films of the contemporary era’.

Messi has been getting plenty of praise too.

Another put: “Disguised as a courtroom drama, this thriller examines the power of truth and how the fear of falling can push us to disturbing limits.”

The flick also has a 90 percent audience score as viewers say it has a ‘phenomenal storyline’ and is ‘compelling and really tense’.

Others call it a ‘roller coaster of emotions’ while some say it’s ‘not fantastic’.

Some viewers say it was ‘maybe too long but the story and plot kept [them] guessing’.

Anatomy of a Fall is now available to stream on Prime Video.
